Just like the rest of humanity, some Catholics need a bit more education.
Catholics believe in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
When the angel Gabriel called Mary, "Full of grace," Mary was already full of grace.
When the angel Gabriel said, "The Lord is with you," the Lord was already with her.
The Blessed Virgin Mary was in a state of grace before she says "yes" to the angel's question and before the Holy Spirit came upon her for a different purpose.
When did Mary's state of grace begin?
Catholics believe this state of grace was with Mary since her Immaculate Conception. This means that Mary was conceived in the normal way (not like Jesus) but that she did not inherit original sin.
God prepared her for her later role as the mother of Jesus.
Catholics celebrate this miracle on December 8 as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
With love in Christ.

Mary was conceived immaculate, without original sin. She is the immaculate conception. The Catholics are not perfect. We are human.

The Blessed Virgin is the Immaculate Conception. If some Catholics dont know who the Immaculate Conception is, it is probably because they are confused with the term.
Blessed Pope Pius IX in 1854 in his Papal Proclamation Ineffabilis Deus defined dogmatically that Our Lady was conceived immaculatus: that is, without macula — without stain of original sin.
"May thy Queenship come
O Immaculate One
So that on earth as in Heaven
God's Will will be done."
Two thousand years have passed since the fulfillment of the prophecy of the good news, the first Gospel, which was given in the Garden of Eden, which prophesied the Woman, Whose Seed would crush satan. (Genesis 3:15).
This promise of God, given at the very beginning of man's history was handed down from generation to generation as their great treasure through all the centuries. And behold at the fullness of time, there came forth the Woman of Revelation for whom the ages had been waiting.
Mary, through Her Immaculate Conception took the place of Eve, to become the Mother of all mankind. She became the Mother of men at the moment She spoke Her "fiat", for then She became the Mother of Christ and His Mystical Body - the Church, that is of all of us. Christ confirmed this when He spoke to John from the Cross: "Behold thy Mother" (John 19:27).

I guess some of them were not listening in religion class. I know a man who was raised Roman Catholic and he was shocked when I explained to him that the Immaculate Conception was a doctrine about Mary's birth, not about Jesus' birth. And in that whole argument, I agree with the Eastern Church. I don't agree with the concept of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Mary was cleaned of original sin because of the uniqueness of having Jesus within her body. That is what the Orthodox say, and it is much more logical, if you ask me.

Lack of education- or they just didn't pay attention.
The Immaculate Conception is Mary. She was conceived the ' good old fashioned way," except that God preserved her from the stain of original sin so she would be a worthy vessel to bring His Only Begotten Son into the world.
Jesus's birth is called the Virgin Birth.

How can a Catholic NOT know this? I have not meant one that did not know this
The very fact that God has elected her shows that none was ever holier than Mary, if any stain had disfigured her soul, if any other virgin had been purer and holier, God would have selected her and rejected Mary.
