I had my daughter 7 months ago, and for the last couple months, of holding her in my arms, carrying her, and sleeping with her cuddled in my arms, I wake up in such pain and numbness. I have stopped and put her down alot but there are times I can't. It has gotten to the point, just picking anything up hurts and I have no strengh. Nothing works for relief. Is there something wrong with me?

HEY SMM,
you sound like you are in alot of pain like for 24/7 ??? i had the same trouble as you are having now, and my doc diagnosed me as having severe Fibromyalgia.........and if you are hurting, especially when you put her down it sounds to me like Fibromyagia.....and it just might be that your body is trying to become accustomed to the weight of your daughter......hey, it is hard work becoming a mom all of a sudden and all these things are
being thrown at you !!!!! and all you dad's out there who think it is just a piece of cake....i challenge you to stay home with your 7 month old child and take care of her on a full time basis......yeah, it's tough isn't it.????

i think you need to see your family practice doctor and have some blood work done, just to rule out a few things......and have your doc check you for the Fibromyalgia, too. Well good luck and God bless and keep you safe and healthy........this, too shall pass......

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

There is definately something wrong with you. You need blood work done for a start. Get someone to take you to your doctor. Sounds horrible to feel like that, especially cause this is your bonding time with your baby, it's supposed to be fun time. Hope you feel better soon.

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Try out some home remedies. You can also look for information in the web that give you home remedies. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

It seems that your muscles and tendons are weak; over stress is affecting them. Rest them, it is the best treatment. Heating with sand pouch or brick will relax them. Massage with Mahanarayan or similar oil will also help.
After you get well you should exercise to increase the power of muscles and tendons.

You could have something like Lyme Disease or Lupus. Pregnancy can sometimes prevent symptoms from ocurring. I would definitely get it checked out. Have a totaly blood workup done.

Those areas of pain sound like fibromyalgia.
Coincidentally, I started having similar symptoms after having my youngest child when he was about seven months. Five years later, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and Parkinson's disease. Please check with your doctor.
