Canon in D is classic. I used that on my wedding day. My husband suggested the theme from "FOX 20th Century" Theme.. u know, they will play the theme before the movie begins... I banned that idea then as i thought i was too corny... but having thought about it... i think it's quite an idea and unique!

For my wedding I didn't use the Star wars theme song but I used the other star wars music. For the entrance of the bride we used either Padme and Anakin's love theme or Princess Leia's theme. For the march out we used the celebration music from the end of Episode IV A New Hope. It has kind of a wedding feel to it and a lot of people don't recognize it as Star Wars.

I have never heard of the song by Lifehouse that was suggested as I am pretty much country. However after reading the lyrics of that song it seems very appropriate for a wedding. In fact I am DJing a wedding in a couple of months and I am going to go listen to that song right now to hear the music itself I say try it out and see how it feels

Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral by Wagner. It's actually the piece that comes before "Here Comes the Bride" in the opera. Also, you may consider contacting you local college and seeing if any music majors would be interested in composing a personal piece. My brother wrote the processional for his wedding and it's something they will have forever as "their wedding march".

I would suggest "Love Is All That Matters" because it starts with an upbeat portion during which the entourage can march, and then followed by a slow, solemn instrumental, to which the bride can march down the aisle.

When walking down the aisle we had Agnus Dei....The whole wedding party walked down to it and then when the doors opened for me to walk into it they were still playing the song...but it got louder, the voices singing as well as the instruments...the doors opened on the Hallelijah (sp?) Holy, Holy. Micheal W Smith sings it look it up...it is a pretty powerful song....I have seen another couple pick a diff song and when she walked it the music got louder and more powerful...i think that is a grand entrence!
good luck

They should try to pick something that has personal meaning to them. Do they have a favorite movie/tv show/video game (my friend used the song from Mario Cart for her recessional)?
Off the top of my head...
1. Dynasty theme
2. Godfather theme
3. Zippity Doo Da (Disney song, can't think which one)
4. When you wish upon a star (Pinocchio)
5. "We have all the time in the world" by Louis Armstrong (from James Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service
6. Toccata and Fuge by Bach (its the song you hear in all the dracula movies)
7. Adagio for strings by Samuel Barber (featured in Platoon)
8. Air on a G string by Bach (featured in James Bond movie Spy Who Loved Me)
9. Rondeau and Chaconne by Henry Purcell (tradional piece that doesnt get used a lot. but its really good for a processional or recessional)
10. Carmina Barona by Orf (I guarantee you've heard it before. it's in lots of movies, but no one knows what its called-except me!)
11. Musical version of Everything I do, I do it for You (from Robin Hood Prince of Theives) by Bryan Adams
12. Finlandia by Jean Sibelius
I personally used 8 & 9. Good luck to your sister!
