Was just wondering if some of you could share your honeymoon experiences with me. We are planning a honeymoon for the end of May 2008 and were wondering where the best/worst destinations were. We were thinking of a Sandals but have had some horror stories and reviews online about many of the sandal's resorts. We do want something all inclusive and most of all relaxing, not a big party. Your great experiences and horror stories may help. Thanks in advance.

We considered Sandals, but ended up going with Palace Resorts in Mexico. We went to Aventura Spa Palace which is an adults only all inclusive near Cancun. It was great. Very relaxing! They have beautiful pools there, but not much of a beach, so this wouldn't be a good place if you love the beach. There is a good selection of restaurants and all the rooms have a partial ocean view. Lots of honeymooners! They do a weekly dinner where all the honeymooners are invited. I really had a great time there.

Our real honeymoon was road trip up the west coast and ending in Seattle. But we had a second honeymoon to an all inclusive resort in Costa Rica. We had the most wonderful time. Costa Rica is so laid back and its got something for everyone. They have the beautiful ocean water with white sand beaches and also the beautiful rain forests and volcanoes. The resort we stayed at was on the pacific side on the peninsula at Tambor. I recommend doing a resort there because they are nicer and have access to all of the excursions. Plus, Costa Rica isn't super tourist-y like all of the other Caribbean islands and Mexico.

Definitely check out the Couples Resorts in Jamaica ... great atmosphere, excellent service and reasonably priced.

I've never stayed at Sandals but Couples Ocho Rios was amazing, even though it's the oldest of the Couples Resorts.

We went up the California coast. LA to San Luis Obispo to San Francisco then over to Lake Tahoe. It was a great trip except for all the rain we had in San Francisco. We couldn't get over to Fisherman's Wharf. Tahoe was great. Lots of snow and we went out on snow-mobils. (we live in LA and no snow) We stayed at Harrah's. That place was faboulous. In San Luis Obispo we stayed at the Madona Inn and the Shore Cliff Lodge in Pismo Beach. Both over look the Ocean. Beautiful. A driving trip was ideal. We got to talk about all kinds of things, and we got to stop whenever we wanted and see what we wanted. Next Feb. will be our 30th and we're repeating the trip. Hope this helps.
