Like any Abbreviation, there are many meanings to the CPE. I hope there is one that applies to your particular question

===================
1.CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English)

CPE is the highest level Cambridge ESOL exam, at level C2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. If you are able to function effectively in almost any English-speaking context and are approaching a standard of English similar to that of an educated native speaker, then this is the exam for you.

Success at this level represents a significant personal achievement.

Why take CPE?

CPE is ideal if you want to work or study abroad, or to develop a career which requires language skills (e.g. business, medicine, engineering). On passing the exam, you'll receive a certificate awarded by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. Your CPE certificate is recognised by thousands of universities and employers throughout the world.

You will also receive a statement of results, showing how you performed in each paper.

While studying for CPE you will be improving your language skills and learning to use them in a wide range of contexts. Because many aspects of the exams are based on realistic tasks, a CPE certificate shows that you have progressed beyond a good knowledge of vocabulary and grammar and can actually use the language in real contexts.

What does the exam involve?

CPE has five papers:

* Reading
* Writing
* Use of English
* Listening
* Speaking

2.Clinical Pastoral Education

Clinical Pastoral Education is an action-reflection educational process in which the student ministers to persons experiencing illness and hospitalization. The student then examines that ministry with peers, a supervisor and interdisciplinary colleagues. The preamble to the constitution of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education notes: “CPE has roots in the efforts of pioneers who sought to bring the theological student into supervised encounter with persons in crisis in order that ‘living human documents’ might be studied, that the shepherding task of ministry might be experienced, and that scientific knowledge of human relationships correlated with theological insight might be brought to bear on the pastoral task.”

Clinical Pastoral Educational Programs

CPE is available for students in theological and graduate degree programs, parish clergy, professed religious and lay persons. Persons are admitted into the program irrespective of age, gender, faith, national origin, sexual orientation, or physical disability.

Individual Units

The educational focus is personal/pastoral identity development and growth in professional competence. Decisions regarding acceptance into individual units are made usually within four weeks of the receipt of an application. Tuition: $400.

Summer - The Summer unit is an 11-week program that begins the Wednesday after the Memorial Day holiday. There are five students in each group. Program hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students are assigned to clinical areas, participate in the on-call rotation, and lead worship in the John M. Reeves All Faiths Chapel. The application process begins in November.

Fall and Spring - The Fall and Spring units follow the academic calendar and begin in late August and January. The program extends 15 weeks and involves 21 hours of hospital experience each week. The group meets 4.5 hours each week. The hour of supervision and 15 hours of pastoral care are individually negotiated. Student are assigned to clinical areas, are on-call eight times, and lead worship in the John M. Reeves All Faiths Chapel. The application process for Fall units begins in March; process for Spring units begins in September.
