Don't buy a cheap pair of clippers! Especially from WalMart. Go to your local beauty supply store and invest in a Wahls or my favorite Osters. The guards will be a little shorter than what you are used to but this is where you start long and work your way down to a length you like. But if you've never buzzed then I would definately think about it!

Yeah definately men buzz there own hair!! I know the long hockey hair is in style right now but that is not the look for some people! Only do a buzz cut if it looks good on you!! But yea all you need is on of those buzzing tools...i'm not sur what their called!! hm..... but yea that is all you need and you could also ask your hair dresser for some ideas! My aunt buzzes her kids hair all the time and she just has one tool!! But good luck on finding something!! I hope it works out for you!!! :)

Sure, I've been doing it for years. It gets pretty easy after a few times. I shave it at the lowest setting (no attackments). Just go buy a pair of clippers at Costco, Wal Mart, or Sears. Costco usually has some good ones that don't run too expensive (a nice set with all kinds of attachments would be $20-$50). Take your time the first few times and have someone double check the back of your head, but with some practice you can do it in ten minutes.

I buzz cut my own hair at least twice a year... old habit i picked up in the military. The tools i use are a bair set of cheap dog clippers from walmart set to the lowest setting and buzz away till everything is cut down to stubble. The clippers run me about $16. Hope it helps

I'm a woman and I buzz my own hair, I like using #1 guard. It's really not hard to do and I save money not going to a barber, I also edge or line up my own head it took practice but I do a pretty good job. Try it!

I cannot speak for the men but I know a few who do and they 'jack' themselves up! It is very hard to keep holding a mirror up to the back of your head and cutting. They also have weight line and plugs missing.
Don't get me wrong.. some do an outstanding job... but most are in denial. Men that definitely get it right are prior military!

take your 2 guard and go all the way up to your occipital bone (right above your bump on the back of your head) and go all the way around...next take the 3 or the 4 which ever you want and do the top and then run it along the line that seperates the 2 and the 3 or 4...it should blend very well...make sure to have a mirror handy :) or if you want it all the same just take your 2 and run it all over your head and use the mirror for the back!!!

My husband does, and he just uses a #2 all over. It may be hard to upkeep your neck ( i usually do that for him).
