I think it would be fun!

Actually, DR J, coming to work nude would be a clear violation as I am required to have a high neckline, long sleeves and cover my legs to my ankles. But a kangaroo suit would meet all of those requirements. ;)

I would see it as a violation if it interferes with the work you are supposed to do. If you drive a work vehicle or sit at a desk, the fat kangaroo tail would most certainly get in the way. if you have to answer the phone, the kangaroo ears might get in the way of that.
If you work as staff at a mental hospital, that could be problematic for the clients, if you know what I mean.
But if you get a trouble-free costume, I am curious to know just how you would fare at work.

If you had clear religious reasons for wearing a kangaroo suit, you could make a compromise with your employer to wear certain features of your attire. However, it cannot interfere with health policies or your work performance. You can't wear a kangaroo suit just because you "feel like it".

I doubt that your firm lists "birthday suit" either on its dress code list. However, it is implied. Kangaroos enter at their own risk. Can you afford a job loss or a disciplinary issue on your record? If so, have some fun!

I imagine there is something in the dress code about "professional appearance" etc. that probably precludes the kangaroo suit.

I worked with a woman (in a hospital, mind you) who came to work dressed like a full-on clown for her birthday. She said it was her tradition. Management asked her to change, she refused, and was fired and escorted out of the building by security on the spot.

She thought it would be fun too.

If your boss has any sense of humor at all, try it, but I'd suggest taking a change of clothes with you and making sure you're early so after changing you won't be late... that should avoid the kind of trouble Don'tMakeMeComeInThere describes. Doesn't sound like too bad of a practical joke to me, I've heard worse. :)

If it's not stated then you probably could. Good luck with that.
