I have 15 cockatiels at home, most males learn to whistle different melodies. But My favorite one talks a lot,so if you spend some time every day repeating what you want to hear he'll talk. When i was hand feeding mine my family members were sick-everyone was sneezing and saying "Bless you",so that was the first thing my bird learned to do-he sneezes and then sais" Bless you"-it's really funny. He also sais "Hey Sexy","Rise and shine", "Hi I'm Chucky, wanna play",laughs and some more.So good luck! And about a bath-just put not a very deep bowl with cool water-they'll take a bath themselves.I also sometimes take them one by one to the shower-they enjoy that too.

When teaching a bird to talk you just have to repeat the phrase over and over. You have to give the bird lots of attention and love. Gain its trust. I have a parakeet that says love you, and makes kissing sounds because that is what I always do to him.

The more attention you can give the bird the better. My birds are spoiled. I have even trained them that when they are out of the cage that they need to say on the newspaper with their toys. When they leave it I just say go back to the paper and they run back.

As for the bath, you can give your bird a very shallow dish of warm water, make sure it is not too hot. Also, get a spray bottle and spray them with luke warm water. My birds like being sprayed better than a bath. It just depends on their personality.

I have also filled the bathroom sink up with a little water and put my bird in there and let it splash around to get clean. Then I hold the bird in a towel to get is somewhat dried off since it is the winter months so it does not get cold.
