Go to Corvette Diner if you dont mind the wait, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
They have magicians, ballon guys, waiters in 50s diner style clothing, bouffant hair-dos, etc.
Food is kid friendly.

i believe there is still a farrell's on mira mesa road. hands down that would be the best.
fudrucker's is a safe bet
dave & buster's
dz akins (there's cartoons on the wall to entertain them, and it's pretty kid friendly)
corvette's is great
but i would certainly check out if farrell's is still there (i know for a fact it was 3 years ago, but that doesn't really mean anything)

The guy with no name is right! By far, Corvette Diner. Plus, Hillcrest is such a fun area to walk around while you're there.

T.G.Fridays is popular with my 4 kids. You didn't mention how old yours are. Mine are 8-14. They also love The Outback.

Pat & Oscar's is a casual sit down restaurant - they serve pizza and other stuff kids like to eat.

I would recommend either Home Town Buffet or Dave & Busters.

How about Dave and Buster's, they have decent food, and endless Arcade enjoyment.
