Yes. This phenomenon actually runs in my family. My father could do it at will as a child but lost the ability to do it at all when he went into the military. It has never come back for him.

Yes and it was reported that I had stopped breathing and that my heart had quit beating. Although I would like to get out of my body when my pain levels are up I would never practice it. I may not get back which is OK but I personally feel that it is something I am not supposed to do, it may be a form of witchcraft. I just don't play Russian roulette. It was kinda neat watching my friend administer CPR while I hovered above the scene.

Yes, I have. Some years ago, I remember dosing off and feeling a sense of paralysis along my body, along with the sensation of floating or losing control, all while remaining conscious.

The sensation is related to a part of the brain that becomes active as you're falling asleep. It's not being "out of body," it simply feels that way, like dreaming would.

yeaaa! i have that too. Its usualy happens when i go to bed and im still not asleep. its like this thing tries to pull me in our of reality, or out of my body somehow, but there is this other force keeping me in. I dont actually have a need of leaving but out of curiosity i want too. My mind kind of stops thinking and it's just this weird moment. Ive had different things as well happen, like sometimes i have this dream where im stuck somewhere and cant escape and danger is coming closer and closer. I try to scream but i just can't and i start panicking. Is this just the human mind, or something else
