Sure. You need to develop wisdom and experience. Long lasting success is having the wisdom to know when the heart is on the right track, or your logical mind. The truth is - there is no simple answer. Most often the best course is to know how to evaluate the relative correctness of either approach.
Best thing - practice, I mean it. Sometimes try the logical approach, sometimes try the emotional angle. You'll start to develop an instinct (wisdom) about how to decide.
Good question.

Because your heart is never wrong.
Just because you feel it doesn't mean the other person automatically does. Nothing happens for no reason, you have something to learn from your experience and you just need to figure out what. Maybe you have to learn to balance between your heart and your head. Maybe you had to learn not to throw your whole heart into something before you know the full story. It's something you have to figure out for yourself but your heart is never wrong.

The heart doesn't lie...the mind does..its the ultimate trickster, tell it to be quiet and just be...however u feel at that moment is the truth.
And to answer ur second question...maybe ur heart was just trying to teach u a lesson in courage...which might be needed in the future for someone else whom u might have to approach.

Let your brain weigh the risks, but let your heart have some influence. A broken heart or bruised ego are usually worth the risk if you might find a good mate.

First of all, what you describe is a rarity. One's heart is generally never wrong, but one's manipulative siblings and relatives might
try to make you think it is. Avoid the dangerous memory suppression pills and stand up for your rights and true feelings.
While you're at it, stand up for and insist on what you want to do!

"Tis better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all." Caring about someone helps you grow as a person, even if it doesn't work out the way you want. You can't listen to *just* your brain all the time, or your life will be very cold and lonely.
