So far you've got....take her out to a restaurant, give her jewelry, and buy her flowers. Oh, and a few think you oughtta propose. Well....she'll be expecting that (not the proposal, the other stuff). If you want to really surprise her and give her a night she'll never forget, do something different...something thoughtful. Something that you HAVEN'T seen on a thousand crappy chickflick movies. What are her likes? What are her interests? If you've been dating her for a year, you oughtta have some sort of clue about this. And...if you are totally clueless, you might go to her friends/parents/siblings about ideas. Like...for my anniversay, my fiance took me out for pizza and to an arcade (we're both huge on video games)...and I loved every bit of it! Sure, a romantic candlelit dinner is nice...but it will blend in with every other romantic candlelit dinner some poor shmuck without a clue treated her to before she met you. Heck...if she's a fashion diva, take her on a shopping spree...and watch her try on all the clothes. You might even ask her to try on something in particular (she'd probably love to hear what you like). Just...show an attempt to figure out something she'd enjoy....try thinking hard about it. If you can't figure something out...a nice dinner would still work,...it's just very vanilla. A romantic dinner is only *really* nice if it's for no reason other than you love her.

It would be helpful to know your ages. The massage idea is good for adults, but in my opinion, not for teens.
A winner for all ages is to give her something that is based on a good memory you have with her. Such as, a sweatshirt for a sports team you have watched/attended together, a picture frame with a photo of a special time you had together, a CD you compile that has songs that remind you of her or of your relationship... etc. More than monetary value, woman/girls want to know you THINK about them and remember special moments/days.
Also, keep listening. Just in daily conversation you will get clues. Often someone I love will mention in passing a CD or book they really want, or a play or concert they would love to go to. Tuck that away in your memory (or keep a list if you can't remember) and the next time you need to buy her a gift you can get something you know she will love!
PS Unless she SPECIFICALLY asks for it NEVER buy a woman work out equipment, a gym membership, or exercise clothing. No matter how well meaning it is, it won't go over well.

It depends on how much money you want to spend! A nice "romantic " getaway for the weekend would be great. If not, take her to a nice resturant and dancing! What would be even better than that, Cook her a nice meal. Have candlelight and music and stay at home, but get a little gift. it doesn't have to be real expensive, maybe perfume or a necklace or bracelet or
something. Hope i've given you some ideas! Have fun!!

On the day, make her feel loved and that you are glad that you are with her and only her. Cook for her; this is more personal than going out to eat. If you can't cook, ask your parents or friends to come over to help you. Have a candle light dinner and decorate your place with balloons etc to make it more romantic. Have romantic music playing. After dinner, slow dance. When her feet hurts, massage her feet. Have some oil ready (baby oil). When she is relax, serenade her with a song or a poem. Then give her a promise ring, signifying that you promise to make her the happiest person and treat her like the Queen she is. This is something cheap but yet romantic; I would love it.

Get a piece of jewelry with 12 stones in it that get gradually bigger in size. Tell her that the stones represent the preceeding year and the increasing sizes represent your growing love and committment to her in that time.

I got one such gift for Valentine's Day this year, and I thought it was the sweetest thing I'd ever received.

Mine is a white gold diamond heart pendant. They're not very expensive even. Similar ones with small stones can be had for about 50 quid.

Now why the thumbs down? It's a sweet gift idea. :(

that all depends on what she likes,
flowers are always a great start.
Why not arrange a romantic picnic at sunset with some candles, somewhere secluded so yous can really enjoy yourselves, if you know what I mean, sometimes we women appreciate thoughtful things rather than material posessions
good luck anyway

A picnic under the stars (if possible), you fix everything. If weather doesn't permit that, then a picnic at the mall! YOU FIX EVERYTHING! No matter what you do, if YOU DO IT you will be showing her that you can take responsibility and take charge. Girls don't like to be the ones to "do" everything. They like guys willing to take a risk and do something totally romantic without their input. Women love this too. It's very refreshing! You go for it! She will love it. Godloveya.

Flowers, Italian dinner, an overdose of Godiva chocolates, a hot-oil massage, soft music, and some Kama Sutra positions.

GET SHOPPING!

(Oh, and a bracelet.)

Take her out to a nice restaurant. Give her a small piece of jewlery and better yet write her a note telling her how your past year with her has been great (assuming it was)...she will love it and might even cry!
