I've seen this a million times here. Believers think that atheists "hate god".
Is it impossible for them to comprehend the non-existence of a god?

also, why do they all hate Thor so much?

because they don't want to believe that there are rational people who really just don't think there is a god, they want to think it's because they had some kind of bad experience with religion etc. that's making them reject their god

From the things I've seen posted on this site by unbelievers of God it can only be seen that there is a lot of hate going on with them. Some of the pictures posted are lewd and disgusting and some of the comments are a low down dirty shame! That is why we think atheists or unbelievers of God hate Him; because of the hateful way some of you reply!

I guess it boils down to the fact if you don't love God then it is because you hate him. I find it hard to believe how a person can doubt the existence of God, but I guess you do. If you don't hate Him that is good. Thor is dead. God is Living.

A self-proclaimed atheist once told me that he hates God, so that is what I always believed it to mean. I have since learned the difference between not believing in God and hating God since regularly visiting R&S.

That makes no sense to me. An atheist cannot hate God. How can a person hate something they don't even believe in? To an atheist, it would be like hating the Tooth Fairy. It would be absurd.

Oh some here are quite insulting to a entity they don't believe in. I just don't honestly see how they can risk another day playing with eternity. This short existance is NOT all we were meant to be--it does not make sense when our brain cells have the capacity to go on for trillions more yrs or eternity.

It's a spillover from the politics of polarization. Probably the same people posting in each case.... Something like:
All athetard god-haters must be Saddam-loving, democracy-cussing traitors!
Sound familiar?

You never met my mother, hunh?
The most vocal of all groups are probably the ones with the most problems, is all, and they have these issues that are emotional, not belief-based.
This is probably why.
PS I t probably didn't help that Nietszche wrote that "God is dead", and otherwise bright people like my father actually felt that the man was literal,
and therefore,
theologically homicidal.
People defend their ties, and they felt threatend by this misunderstood metaphor!

Because some do deep in their hearts hate God, which is why they tell themselves they don't believe.
