I live with my parents 30 minutes away from the university im currently attending. I really don't want to live on campus because I'd be away from work, which is 5 minutes away from my parents house. I don't make a lot of money but the schedule is really flexible to my classes and such. I also can call out if need be and not have to worry about losing my job.
My question is Should i move out and live with three friends?! Money would be tight but my parents and I haven't been getting along and its been really stressful. ANOTHER BIG PROBLEM is I love my boyfriend and he lives in an apartment near my parents house. I've been spending most of the nights at his place but I don't think he's going to ask me about moving in anytime soon...

Isn't the question more should you move in with your bf? Your parents don't seem to have a prob w/you staying over at his place, so why ot make it official? You'll have to talk to him about it tho. It's on your mind so you should find out.
If nothing else, keep your place of residence at your parents but really live w/him, know what I mean? If living w/him isn't an option then move out w/your friends. You need to get out of the house.

Stay at your parents until you are done with school or making enough money to comfortably afford to live on your own. Moving in with 3 friends is not the best idea - after that much togetherness, probably 2 of them will not be friends with you any longer. It is hard to live with anyone - if it has to be difficult, why not while you are at your parents. No matter how tough that situation gets, you will all forgive each other and still love each other. Look ahead instead of considering "living in the moment".

I get the impression that you want to have your cake and eat it too with a scoop of ice cream thrown in. I suspect your parents are footing the bill for you to go to school and providing you with transportation as well as supplementing your spending money. Do they have any right to wonder where you are when you decide to go spend the night with some guy and his roommate who apparently has no serious intentions toward you other than a temporary convenience for his libido.
You didn't mention the sex of your three friends. If money would be tight I don't imagine they live in a 4 bedroom home and would be expecting you to chip in for the rent and groceries. Tell mom and dad, you're going to school, partying with your friends and they aren't furnishing you with enough money. Just let them know that living at home cramps your style and sex life.

Stay at home and tough it out. Way to much distraction, bills, and stressful room mate situations to move out now. It's really difficult to try and make it on your own (even with room mates) and try to go to college. Plus you might move in with you boyfriend later down the road and that might be a factor if your on a lease or just the pain of moving. I know it's horrible living with parents but once you graduate things will be so much better if you just stick it out now. By the way I dropped out of college when I moved in with 3 roomates that loved to party.

Hello Rachelle,
The first stage of your decision is to seriously count all of the
pros and cons of both situations--staying with your parents, or
moving in with your friends. Will anyone be hurt? How? Who
will benefit the most? Weigh everything carefully, making sure
that positives outweigh all the negatives.
