Yes it's $8.00 parking and admission is free. Once you park you take a tram up to the museum. I was just there last week. Saw icons of Sinai it was an amazing exhibit.

You do not need a reservation to get into the Getty Center, but the Getty Villa recently re-openned so you will need reservations. On busy weekends you may have to park further away from the Getty and take a shuttle, or take a bus and it is free! A Saturday can be pretty busy, so get there early or go later to miss the mid-morning crowd. There are frequently lectures, live music and other events, so look into what is going on and you can get reservations/tickets for those (this weekend there is some great live music at night). Family festivals are also really fun.

Food is not all that expensive and it is pretty good. There are several options: fancy, cafeteria and food cart.

Have fun! Bring your camera!

if you want to avoid paying that parking fee
you can catch a metro bus in Westwood (or Sunset and Church lane
that would cost you $1.25
be advise if anyone or tour guides tell you to take the Santa Monica
14 (it no longer ends at the Getty[they stop serving the Getty because Getty stopped pay the Big Blue bus to run there)
(its terminal now is Morga
drive where you *could* walk it but sepuleveda in that area
isn't made for pedestrians,. (it would be about a mile)
(or you take a taxi (but you probally would have to call
one and most drivers wont do that short of trip)

Both the Getty Villa and Getty Museum (in town off the 405) are free but you really need to book ahead (sometimes several months) in order to get tickets.....(Yes you have to pay for parking).

Wow, we haven't been there for Years. I need to go again because I remember how GREAT it was! It's probably pretty steep. It costs a LOT of money to run a museum. The overhead is crazy. But it's worth every penny. Call the museum. They have special rates if you are with a group - which you should do.

I think that parking is free but you have to make a reservation and take a tram. I havent been there in few years. Check out their web site for prices and info. It is very cool and Sat. should be fine but see if you need reservations it may be more crowded on Sat.

it is free, but parking id 5 dollars. The tram is free and i never had any reservations.... i went there many times. THe food is a lottle more than you would pay outside, but because the place is free, it evens out, and there are no places to eat very close by.
