A person who is confident shows it with their actions. They stand up straight, they know what they want, and they are strong. Cocky people tend to overdo everything. They are overexagerating about themselves and talk about themselves and how great they are. Being cocky..is a big turn off. There is no need to talk or display money or other materialistic things if you are confident. You just are. You don't have to brag or display things to be a confident person. Being cocky is done by people who have low self esteem. They want to say or do things to bring themselves up and instead people see through the visage. I don't like cocky and arrogant people!

Confidence is being comfortable with your abilities and talents - it's being in touch with who you are and feeling good about it. Cockyness is being over-confident - perhaps you feel you have abilities and talents that don't exist or aren't all that great. It's more of an "in-your-face" kind of attitude that annoys people.
