set you fax to manual mode. Then it won't pick up, but you can fax out. Then people can fax you as long as you are there to pick up the phone, hear the fax signal and press the start button. For incomming faxes an new line is easier. Other options include a fax by email service such as eFax to receive faxes without need of a new line.

Yes you can use your single land line. If I want to send a fax, I use the fax option in XP. If you open control panel and select the printer /fax option. Click on the turn on fax icon. XP will set up a fax as an option when you print. Then when you want to fax something select print. Hit the drop down arrow to select what printer to use. Fax will be listed. Pretty much self explanatory from there.
Note your land line needs to be plugged into your PC modem.

Yes you can use your home phone! Our fax is set to automatically recognize a fax when it is coming in and pick it up. Makes life a little easier not getting the annoying beep in the ear. The best part is that it saves money too!! :)

Yes you can - you just wont be able to use the line for voice while you are faxing & make sure you set the fax machine to manual.
