Uhm, first what do American Businesses have to do with Cuban Communism and America never went to war with Cuba. There was a close call, but no actual war. Sooooo, care to rephrase the question?

Where in the world did you get the idea that American
business caused the (American) Cuban war? The war that
was fought when Fidel Castro came into power was a
revolutionary war. It was supposedly a war to overthrow
the Cuban elite and power structure. The sad part was they
had to become communist and ally themselves with Russia
to have any hope of independence. The old story: Get into
bed with a pig and you come out smelling like a pig. I'm hoping that after Castro dies, that Cuba can at last be free and independent.

Maybe you are confused. There has never been an American Cuban War. There was the Spanish American War that started shortly after the battleship USS Maine was blown up in Havana Harbor in 1898. The US Press and big business is credited with egging on the sentiment that the Spanish government sabotaged the Maine and a war soon began. It is supposed that big business had ideas of expanding US possessions overseas such as Cuba and the Philippines. At the end of the war the Philippines became a US Protectorate, along with Puerto Rico. Cuba gained its independence.

During the time when Fidel Castro was still considered an opposition to the existing government... his fight was about the corrupt businessmen and politicians both local and US origin who feeds on their own countrymen and are basically in business for themselves. Casinos, Sex Slaves, Murder, Corruption, Oppression, Hunger and Poverty are just some of the characteristics of Cuba during those days. But the war was not fought between Americans and Cubans, it was their own Cuban Civil War between government and civilians. People who just had enough....Fidel Castro was the propagator of that civil war....
