Mostly basset hounds, bull mastiffs, and st. Bernard's are some of da biggest droolers. when they start exercising or eating. their saliva glands get going(just like yours). they cant stop them.

But so if your lab suddenly starts to drool but doesn't have a history of drooling, it could mean that something is wrong. it might be a good time to check with your vet!!!

Labs are not know to drool as much as you have described. A trip to the vets is in order here. I suggest as soon as you can get him there.

Dog do not have sweat glands on their tongues!!! They have saliva glands in their mouths like all dogs do and people!

Sounds like he's sick. I know that Rabis makes an overproduction
of saliva and inability to swallow water. But other sicknesses cause the same symptoms. Get him checked out fast.

well maybe he can't help it some breeds of dogs like Saint Bernards and Basset Hounds are just drool machines! i think that maybe some animals just have their salivary glands over produce and they don't know what to do so they just let it run all over the place

In lieu of sweating, in other words their sweating glands are on their tongue. That makes them drool. I am mistaken, dogs sweat glands are like on their paws. Live and learn.

Maybe he's hot, dogs do that when they get overheated. Or else he's sick like she said.
