have an awful cold sore on my upper lip. It has now transferred to my skin between my nose and my lip. In the past I've tried abreva, zilactin b, herpicin L, chapstick medicated cold sore treatment, carmex, etc. Abreva works ok but it's expensive. Is there any home remedies that can clear it up? I've heard of using a wet tea bag helps? Any suggestions would help! Thank you.

Cold sores are a form of a herpes virus type 2. This virus follows a nerve pathway and can be brought about (after initial infection) through trauma or irritation. Having a cold and blowing your nose or a sunburn can be the aggervation needed to bring about a flair up. This is why you started with a sore in one spot and now have sores in another area, the virus is following a nerve pathway.
The only thing that I have known to really get rid of a cold sore is time. From stinging sensation which usually indicates a sore is coming until it is completely gone is usually around 10 -14days. There are a few things that can be done one is acyclovir prescription from a physician. Non steroidal antiinflammatories such as Motrin or Advil will help with the blisters this will need to be taken frequently through the day not to exceed amount on bottle. The prescription medication is designed to excelerate the breakout making it go away faster than it would without it. Remember to rest accordingly and get plenty of fluids as this is an illness and has the potential to make you feel ill. Hope this helps. Herpes 2 can be transmitted rather innocently, don't worry about what others think.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about 6 yrs ago, while I was still attending college and had a dumb one-night stand. I understand loads of girls will declare this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/ZPXAM everything improved.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system gave me back the chance to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the World.

Abreva is all I've ever used and yeah it works really well. It's a small bottle and expensive but it'll last for a while so it's worth it.

Use rubbing alcohol. Dip a q-tip in it and gently dab the cold sore.
Do this about 4 times a day. It should heal in 2-4 days. The next time you feel a cold sore coming on, dab it with rubbing alcohol right away, and it may not even appear.

This has worked for me and my wife and whoever it was that told us.Ear wax, that's right, ear wax. Get a little on a Q-tip and dab it on the cold sore. (hope you don't keep your ears too clean) Believe it or not,it works. It will take about 3 or 4 days so use the wax sparingly

The wet teabag and Kanka are the 2 things that come to mind here. You will want to keep the area moistened, so putting vaseline on the sore will help it heal up.

What are you guilty of? Yes you do know the answer to this question. Now to fix your immediate problem, try applying a block if ice to the area. Then you should apply 100% pure coconut oil to the affected area for relief. And going back to my first statement, you never have, and should never feel guilty for anything you do, you are a free agent. Good luck in the future.
