The problem you are describing is acid reflux. When the level of acid is high after a meal (usually from fatty foods/ spicey foods and acidic beverages) is consumed, the acids begin to rise up from the stomach. When belching occurs, the acid then rises into the esophagus, now creating what is called GERD (gastro esophagial reflux disease). As the level continues to rise without relief the level of pain it creates can cause intense abdominal/ chest pain which will bring on extreme nausea. At this point vommitting would be the last thing you could wish for as the acid will cause tears and erosion in your esophagus as it passes. I personally have been on Aciphex for a year now as a result of this problem....I KNOW what your feeling firsthand. See your doctor for treatment as you could need a appy with a gastroenterologist.
