When a Master Chief is selected to become a Command Master Chief he is no longer a regular Master Chief. In fact after being selected to be a CMC they can no longer just be a Master Chief for a department anymore. They will only be able to go from on Command Master Chief positon to another Command Master Chief position. They lose their prior rating in process as well. So say they used to be a DCCM or a ETCM they become a CMDCM when they become the Command Master Chief. CMDCM is the only correct answer to your question.

You need to get in touch with the CMC of her husband's ship or command - not for the entire Navy or region. If you know what command he works at, look it up (internet/google) and it should have the contact information for the CO (skipper), XO (2nd in command) and CMC. Your friend can also talk to the Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC) on base, specifically the Family Advocacy Program (FAP).
