I live with my mother, and just found out that her boyfriend's unbearable snotty relatives are visiting this weekend. I'd really rather not stick around if I can help it.

I don't really want to bother any of my friends, because they have plans already and it'd be kind of out of the blue.

I'm considering a last-minute plane ticket out to my bf's place across the state. He'd be happy to have me, and I haven't seen him in a while. The ticket would cost me 200 smackers though, and that's a bit expensive for me. Not to mention parking at the airport...

What do you think?

i don't think it's worth it. Surely one or two days of torture can be handled rather than blowing 200 bucks on one weekend away. Just find other things to busy you. Like take a long walk in the mornings so you don't have to go anywhere with them or stay on the computer and tell people you're working on something. There are ways to fill in your time without having to catch a plane. Get a couple of good books or video/computer games and spend all weekend reading/ playing them. People might try to talk to you for a bit then they'll realise your not paying attention and leave you alone. Your other option is to be so keen to hang around them, they'll try to avoid you just to get some peace and quiet. Do slightly inappropriate things like following them to the bathroom or inappropriate random hugs and laughter. It works surprisingly quickly.

You should think of it this way. If you spend one weekend in your life putting up with these people, you can keep your 200 and put it towards a month long vacation with your boyfriend when they decide to stay over for longer than just a weekend. Of course, if you do your job right they may be a little scared to come back to soon. ;)

Good luck. You might find that they are really nice people.

I assume that you are not the type of person who likes to spead time alone. There are three alternatives:

ONE: u can go to your bf's place.

TWO: Stay in your house and show your mother the respect for having her bf's relatives over in your house. Your mother will be able to make good assessment of her situation by your side, because she has your trust and support. Since you are the daughter second to none, you will be a tremendous help to your mother emotionally.

THREE: Spend time alone in a good hotel room nearby; long bath; watch a nice movie; and indulge in yourself.

nicely, i go with to pass on record as conserving that i love pits - I used to stay with one and they are smart, helpful, wonderful domestic dogs. notwithstanding...Hm. i'm no longer convinced that i'd be actually secure with my toddler round one. now no longer because the i do no longer trust reliable-behaved canines - because i do no longer trust little toddlers. a touch youngster can rigidity the astounding canines over the verge of cave in. And the problem with pits _isn't_ that they are all certainly aggressive or regardless of like that - it really is that once they're provoked, they _can_ truly harm or kill each person interior the acceptable way that yet another domestic dogs are not to any extent further in a position to. A lab can bite your teen and it will be undesirable - yet a pit bull would, if provoked, drag your toddler round by using the neck until eventually they were useless. Harsh notwithstanding genuine. acquaintances of mine have a outstanding canines, some type of organic bred sheep canines. he's thoroughly mushy and spends time cuddled up with their six month previous. notwithstanding, my baby once stepped on his injured foot with shoes on (oops for the time of - we did not comprehend the canines became injured) and he snapped and growled at him. pondering the actual shown truth that toddlers can galvanize the nicest of canines. That said, if it became once a call between a nicely-proficient pit and a intense strung, sick-knowledgeable favourite Poodle named "Princess" - yeah, i'd pass with the pit. i imagine you adult men ought to drop the particular thoughts about particular breeds and domestic dogs and in simple terms declare a "No canines" rule for play dates. and then both stick with it except the kids are older.

It is $ vs. human relations. Certainly you can avoid spending the # and cope with your the relatives. If it is really an issue then try to overcome your fear instead of running away.

A cheap hotel would be nice, maybe a pool, watch some tube, just one day, not both days.

And DON'T pay your way to see your bf. I just think its wrong. Maybe he can split the cost with you.
