What if you're a humble person, or a person who loves nature and you feel uncomfortable in posh digs. Why would Jesus reward us with a bunch of materialistic stuff? Isn't that a little weird?

I know how you feel. I was praying about this very thing one day and I told Jesus that I didn't need a mansion. I would rather have a humble little cottage. God, knows what you like the best and I don't think you will be disappointed with what He has prepared for you. I understand that Heaven has some really beautiful flowers. The important thing about Heaven is that we will live in the presence of God. There will be things to do so you will not be bored. Remember that God is the creator, so material stuff to Him is neither here nor there.

and how do you know that our reward is materialistic? have you been to heaven and seen the rewards we get? oh no my friend our reward is much more valuable than mere materials. Heaven is perfect, you won't be complaining, remember that.

mansions in heaven may not be the same as the ones on earth i am sure they are vastly different i would not count on material things in heaven your mansion may be fields and flowers while another may have a seashore we just do not know as it is not written in the bible

The word used is better translated "dwelling place". But you say "Jesus is preparing for us" ? - You are not professing to be one of His disciples are you? What will people think of you?

Good call man. I don't think we'll need sleep in heaven. Those new bodies God'll give us will have nuclear reactors so they'll almost never need rest or recharging.
