I can certainly question your silly ideas about "God". As you can question mine about the Invisible Pink Unicorn.

Edit :
I read it right the first time, but since there is no god, the question made no sense. I can only question your belief in gods, not the imaginary friends themselves.

It's a hypothetical question that makes an assumption that your silly little imaginary friend is real even though we don't believe in him.

In short : We can't question something that doesn't exist, but we should question those deluded enough to believe in it.

Investigating to see what the truth of the matter of religion isn't questioning God. We can't see, taste, feel, smell or hear God. No one has ever seen God. The only thing we can know of God is what His Messengers have told us. Usually when people say they are questioning God what is really going on is that they are questioning the interpretation of the Holy books. Most have no historical perspective that they can use as a back drop for a solid investigation of religion. It takes some time and effort but it is worth it. I don't mean reading the works of the theologians with out a balancing dose of other perspectives either.

One problem though: 2Th 2:11 Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false....
From your bible! If you don't want the truth no matter what it may turn out to be you are basically screwed. In other words if you want to believe the words of the clergy and don't care enough to make sure it is the truth then you get the delusion. Don't take the delusion. Don't drink the koolaid just because everyone else is drinking the koolaid. If you are 9 or older you should know this.

You can, but it would usually mean that you are acting irrationally. Trying to have a dialog with someone or something that you don't think exists, probably qualifies you as insane... UNLESS you are just trying to see if the person/thing actually exists. For example, an open-minded atheist or agnostic might wish to find god, and therefore put a question to god, in hopes of an answer/response.

Yes. Actually you can't question God if you do believe in him.

Ask God a direct question? Not unless you are schizophrenic as well as an atheist.

if Christians so adamantly insist their little book is the "word of god," then that work is open to cross-examination and scrutiny, regardless of who wrote it. And if that process questions the Christians' concept of their god-figure, so be it.

Yes. God will answer if you are truly questioning and not mocking. If your heart is open he will answer. If not, you wouldn't hear the answer anyway.
