If I get a smile, what do I say/do?

Question

If I'm on the train, and look at a girl, and she's looking at me... and keeps looking at me, and then... smiles, and I smile back... What do I do???? I have no idea how to talk to a strange woman. What are some good things to say to get the conversation going? (Besides "Hi." and "What's your name?") The best I have is, "How you doin'?" from Joey on Friends.

Yeah but only if you do it with suave' (major confidence) otherwise it is retarded. It sounds like this route might not be the one for you. Likewise 'do you have a boyfriend' (this in refference to a comment a couple ones up about 'how you doin'
Yeah, personally, say whatever, just comming out and saying "my name is ..." is probably good in this case because it shows some honesty if she's already noticed you noticing her. But above all, as long as you are respectful, nice, and casual, you'll be appreciated. Stay relaxed or at least try to keep the appearance of being relaxed. You can seem excited, too, certainly (that's how you'll flatter her) but don't be pushy or try to rush things or ask any questions which might make her feel like you are gonna be a pest, like are you going to ride this train tomorrow? unless she's indicated plainly that she wants to talk with you again.

It's true that if she likes you too, it really won't matter what you say. I've been with my bf for 3 years now and the first thing he said to me was "so, uh, how old are you anyway" but I still couldn't help but fall, so as lame as I thought that was, it was kinda cute to me.

You made me laugh with your pick up line from "Friends"? don't say "how you doin" unless your from Brooklyn. Look she obviously likes you and is hoping you will talk you her. Tell her we gotta stop meeting like this. then she will probbaly laugh and you can say Oh my is........then she will say her name, chit chat about how busy the train is all the time and how they are never on time. If that is the case. Then take it from there, you could then ask her for a coffee, and take her number. Don't forget to let us know how it when. Good luck I have all my fingers crossed for you. :)

Smile and say, "Hi". I assume you're going to work, so ask her how she thinks her day will go (or how it went at the end of the day). That's how a conversation starts. Good luck!

Just go and talk to her, talk about the weather, give her a compliment, ask her where she is going, . . . Anything. If she likes you it won't matter to her what you say (even if you think you are sounding totally dumb) :)

make a compliment about something. you like her shirt...skirt, etc. if she is reading something comment on that ( that looks interesting)...You can always make a comment on the weather or the train itself.....how long are riding?

even though it may seem lame. just go say hello. then introduce yourself, if she has any interest in you she'll then introduce herself that's your way in and after that your on your own buddy

if a guy said that to me, i would be like "OMG :O!! you...are...the...coolest...!" sereously... that line is the shiz. :P ummmmm conversaion starters.... 'so where are you heading to?' .... 'do you have a boyfriend/husband/fiance?'.... 'hows life' never mind thats kinda lame...ummm 'where are you coming from?' i dunno... something like that. give her a compliment or something...
