It should be in his big book of universal wisdom, the bible.
I mean, we all know he doesn't want you to beat them, too hard anyway......if they die, you have to pay a fine and all,
but overall, God really sees nothing wrong with slavery at all, does he?
Can you give me some bible verses to help understand why in the world slavery should be outlawed, naming verses with the actual word slavery in them!??? Thanks! tootles!: )

Angel: However a charitable organization as that is, and the intentions are good, to help children,
God does still condone slavery.
Actually, since it's same race slavery, according to the article in the link posted above you, it's not as bad.
It's only 'bad' if it's based on your "race" though this is pulled out of one's butt and is not scriptural at all.

Genocide and slavery back in the OT was ONLY allowed for people of the nations they were conquering and the surrounding nations because THEY were evil and rejected God. Now why wasnt this made universal? Why was it ok for the Jews to slaughter people and take them into slavery? god was trying to show his power here on earth and it was an illustration of a few things we see pop up in the NT.
1. Anybody who sins and doesnt repent is a slave to sin. (John 8:34) Therefore these people that were not Gods people were put into slavery to illustrate the fact that they ARE slaves deep down anyway!
2. The penalty for sin is DEATH. (Romans 6:23) God HATES sin and the destruction of human life back then was to illustrate what eternal punishment is going to be like. Evil people are going to be wiped out on a massive scale and it is by the hand of God that it is done, not the hands of men. If God commands that people should die, they should die.

What do you think spurred the idea of slavery?? The fact that is was not condemned in the Bible! Thats why so many people pre-Civil War had strong beliefs and were pro-slavery and did not find it wrong to keep slaves. In the Qu'ran, it states that slavery IS indeed allowed, but there are specific restrictions on slavery. For one, as a Muslim, the Qu'ran makes it extremely difficult to own a slave. In the rare case that a Muslim actually does own a slave, once again, the Muslim is limited and can only rightfully own the slave following strict circumstances. For example, the owner cannot make his slave do unreasonable amounts of work, and restricts the owner to put the slave to any sort of work the owner himself is not physically capable of. Also, any sort of mistreatment of slaves is also strongly prohibited. There is more to this, but to make a long story short, the Qu'ran does allow slavery, but bestows extreme restrictions on owning any, thus making it arduous to even own one.
However, in the Bible, slavery is virtually inexistent. That's what encouraged many people to own slaves; the fact that the Bible did not forbid it.

God does not approve of slavery, slavery existed because that was what mankind wanted and God does allow man to make decisions regardless if they are bad decisions. In the OT God gives instructions regarding difference laws, feast days and also some info on the care of slaves. He said that they were to do treated well. Did you know that World Vision, a Christian organization is trying to end slavery of children in places around the world. In Uganda Africa, they sell their children into slavery and girls who are 5yrs are being used as sex slaves. You know who is abusing these girls, American men. World Vision has gotten the government to back a Bill that would have these men serve time in prison for using these kids. World Vision has actually posted signs stating that if you get caught with one of these kids in Uganda you will serve time in an American jail, if you are an American citizen. So you don't have to go back to the OT days for slavery. If God was for slaves I doubt if a Christian Org. would try to stop it.

Slaves, male and female, you may indeed possess, provided you buy them from among the neighboring nations. You may also buy them from among the aliens who reside with you and from their children who are born and reared in your land. Such slaves you may own as chattels, and leave to your sons as their hereditary property, making them perpetual slaves. But you shall not lord it harshly over any of the Israelites, your kinsmen. (Leviticus 25:44-46)
Yes, the God of the Bible explicitly states that slavery is okay.
...
Despite frankyglitz's link above, the Bible quote I just provided proves that God DOES condone race-based slavery. God allowed the Israelites to take slaves from any nation except their own. In the following paragraph (go read Leviticus 25 for yourself and see), God says that Israelites sold into slavery to foreigners must be released eventually, but foreigners sold into slavery to Israelites may be kept as slaves forever. Like it or not, that is race-based slavery.
It's too bad that Christians don't actually read the Bible. If they did, maybe they'd see the evil it contains.
...
Servants don't become "hereditary property," as described in the Bible verses cited above. That whole "slaves in the Bible were really just servants" argument is clearly nothing more than modern whitewashing of the truth by Christians.

Why do you think that GOD approves of slavery? because he knew beforehand that ther was going to be slavery, so he wanted the slaves to be treated well, and to listen to their masters so they would be treated well. I will bet that most of those slaves are in Heaven right now with GOD, living the good life!

do you have debt? your a slave
you are slave to whatever controls you, rather than you controlling it.
Perhaps you have not read the story of the Exodus????? God gave freedom to slaves in a very miraculous way. He went to great lengths to give them freedom, it was man who held them as slaves, an entire race of people were slaved and then God set the slaves free.
READ ALL ABOUT IT, IT IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE!!!!!
