I set boundaries for my 2 dogs a Rotti and an Akita mix. Because of this if they go in the kitchen or try I should say all I have to do is point my fingerand tell them Back and they go to the living room. They know that cannot go any further than the firring strip in the floor. Most of the time they go and lie down in front of the couch. The only time they can enter my kitchen if I say OUT and they know they are going outside. They go to the door and wait till I open it. Teach them simple obeidance like sit, they see you as a leader they are just looking for stimulation. Make them think the kitchen is your territory and that arent welcome unless you say so. Works the same for other rooms also.

I think I would feel flattered that they love you so much. Especially the new puppy. I have a five year old male pit bull, we live in an apartment, and believe me, this dog matches me pace for pace. It is like he can't take his eyes off me for two minutes. But when I look at him, I see unconditional love. I have raised him since he was two weeks and abandoned by his mom. If not for me, he would probably be dead. Same with the pup your hubby brought home. You should try to enjoy them while you can.

I know exactly what your going through. I have 2- 90 pound Goldens that follow me everywhere I go. I don't mind too much because I know they love me and can't stand to be alone with out me near.
I do set limits, the bathroom is off limits, and they can't come too close when I'm cooking in the kitchen. My husband and my bed is off limits too.
Other than those few rooms my boy's are here with me.
They love you so I suppose you will have to get used to it.

Why don't you tell your hubby about your unhappiness. I suppose if you had told him he might consider to send the other dog to someone else who would provide a loving home for it.
Tell your hubby about the small space and the dogs are making you insane, tell him.

If training is not working, try baby gates. It's sure fire. I have a rotti mix and I hate it when he's under my feet in the kitchen. It makes cooking near impossible. I simply fuss a bit and gently pushed him out when I'm in there and now he has learned that the kitchen is off limits if I'm in there. I'm sure the same should work for you.

Think of it as cheap security & unconditional love. Give the dogs a bone & they'll leave you alone for awhile.

You could put them in a crate from time to time or try to take them out for excersize.. really try to tire them out. This way they will want to rest in the house.
