... I have seen this question asked many times on yahoo answers. I finally found an honest answer. "How could a loving God send anyone to hell, especially someone who has never heard about Christ? In fact, says Paul, God has revealed himself plainly in the creation to all people and yet people reject even this basic knowledge of God. Also, all people have an inner sense of what God requires, but they choose not to live up to it. Put another way, people's moral standards are always better than their behavior. If people suppress God's truth in order to live their own way, the have no excuse. They know the truth, and they will have to endure the consequences of ignoring it. Why is God angry at sinful people? Because they have substituted the truth about him with a fantasy of their own imagination. They have stifled the truth God naturally reveals to all people in order to believe anything that supports their own self-centered lifestyles.."

You asked how God could send anyone to hell, and then answered your own question by saying that He's angry because they have replaced Him with their own fantasies.
1.) Hell is just the state of eternal separation from God.
2.) God has, in fact, revealed Himself to all of creation.
3.) He has also given us free will in order that we might choose to be with Him. This choice is called "love".
4.) The result of choosing NOT to be with God results in separation from God, or hell.
So, really, people choose hell. God doesn't, in any way, SEND people there. There's just no options besides be completely with and being completely without Him.
You also might consider a more literal translation. NLT is kind of shady.

Curiously enough, there are millions upon millions of people who do not believe in God, and do not read the Bible, and yet manage to live moral lives that are comparable with the moral lives of most believers.
There is no reason to believe that the Bible is the source or repository of all moral truth. Ethical behavior long predates the Bible.

A Loving God sent His only Begotten son to HELL.
There are people who are criminals, who torture and terrorize others, it would not be just or fair to let such people live in Peace while they are guilty of murder or rape.
Most people really dont have to worry about going to hell. Only those that will not repent of their sins and their crimes need to Fear God.
for it is writtten God will accept people of all nations that Fear Him and do works of righteousness.

God dosent send anyone to hell. You send your own self to hell. You have a choice rather to follow Jesus and spend eternity in heaven or continue to live in sin. It is your choice and only your choice. God does not make anyone follow him and leaves that decision to you. If you chose not to follow Gods word then you go to hell. Therefore your sending your ownself to hell when you chose to keep sinning. Don't blame God because you want to live in sin. He already paid the price for our sin. He just wants us to come to him where he has made a place for us in heaven for eternity. The choice is anyones to make.

Better yet, why does a loving god kill so many people?
Because he's not as loving as people want him to be. He's a jealous god. Jealousy is only a form of anger. Anger begets hate. You do the math.
The master of evil and hatred to all Christians is Satan (devil, Lucifer, whatever). According to the Bible how many humans is he responsible for killing? how many have God Killed?

regardless of your justification their is no rationality.
either God is cruel and sadistic or hell dose not exist.
A person lives for about 100 years in that time he can do a lot of sins. How can that equal an eternity of punishment though?
The punishment simply dose not fit the crime and as such is cruel and sadistic

Hey....thanks.
That makes so much sense now that I hear you say it.
Of course, god is only torturing people for all eternity out of lovingkindness and respect for their finite decisions in our confusing world.
Sure.
Since some people lie or feel lust, they must be choosing to be tortured forever. That makes perfect sense.
Thanks for the insight.
