Petfinder is an excellent webiste to find dogs in your area that are in need of homes. Why not adopt a beautiful Shih Tzu (or Shih Tzu mix) from a rescue? If you do decide to adopt, rather than buy from a breeder, here are some young (1 year old or younger) Shih Tzu puppies in NJ (note that some of these dogs are not purebred):

http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=7902134 - 9 month old female Shih Tzu cross, she weighs 17lb, good with other dogs and cats, spayed, up to date on shots and is from New York City.
http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=7929968 - Lola is a 1 year old purebred Shih Tzu puppy, she weighs just 11lb, she has a great temperament, she is very energetic and loves other dogs; she comes from Crompond NY.
http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=7928099 - Skyler is a 7 week old, 3lb Shih Tzu x Pekingese puppy, he comes from a house where the owner thought it was cruel to spay and neuter so he does have other breeds in his blood (poodle, pug, maltese etc.) meaning he is a Heinz 57. He should stay under 15lb when fully grown, he is playful and bouncy (like all puppies) and does well with other dogs and cats. He costs $350 and $100 will be given back when they have proof that you have neutered him. He comes from Pulaski NY.

Or you can go to http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?offset=3&zone=7&limit=25&zip=08570&breed=Shih+Tzu&animal=Dog&age=Baby&size=S&tmpl=&lat=40.32057325665&long=-74.5142&preview=1 to search all dogs in and very close to NY.

Please consider adopting a dog from Petfinder. They are all in need of a loving home. They are much cheaper, generally healthy (if properly cared for) and need a home more than a purebred 8 week old puppy from a reputable breeder does!

Edit: Oops, when searching for the dogs, I typed NY not NJ. Well, I'm sure NY is close to NJ? You can still go to http://www.petfinder.com and just type in what you want in the purple bar on the left hand side.

Yeah, what she said....if you buy a puppy, you more likely will NOT get a healthy puppy than if you adopt! Don't shop, adopt!
