Here is an actual quote from a christian trying to prove that his religion is the best and most loving;

"You will believe in God when you see him for judgement and spend eternity in hell. I have given you warning. Do you feel lucky? Every minute you are closer to death or "nothingness""

Isn't that sweet? We WILL believe in his imaginary sky pixie when he sends us to an eternity of torture in hell. Wow, now I'm convinced. Your god sure is all loving and forgiving. Yep.
And then he goes on to remind us that death is creeping up on us every minute of the day.
As if we did'nt know that. Trust me when I say that Atheists tend to live their lives like it was the only one we have. Because, of course, it IS the only one we have. No afterlife, no god, no leprechauns.
And your threats are as impotent as you are...

Serena.
You haven't been on this board much have you? This is absolutely typical of christians here.
It's not a stereotype when 90% of you do it...

Hank,
Let me explain this to you, and I'll use small words so you can understand...
god is not real, leprechauns are not real, heaven and hell are not real.
Understand now?

Schneb,
I notice that you did'nt deny that threats are the #1 way that christians try to get new converts. Gee, I wonder why?
Could it possibly be because that's how your cult operates? You promise a magical candy-land if you're a good little boy or girl, but hell if you're bad.
That's a threat. Plain and simple.

I know that I can not speak for every one. But I (Jehovah's Witness) would never tell any one that God sends them to be tortured after death. Nor would I say that you live on after death.. Both of these teachings are not from God they are from Man.. I also do not think there is a afterlife. The bible talks about the condition of the dead..
So as speaking for some Christians (the ones that I know) we don't use threats. We try to live by the bible (not man). Yes we have even been wrong in the past.. But one can only hope that when they find out that they are wrong that they make the changes that need to be made...

LOL sorry I'm running on about something other then what you were saying.. Sorry..
Have a good night.

Wow...mocking threats made by radicals and attributing to the whole.
I have to say one thing- even if 90% of people have a disease, does it mean that EVERYONE has it? NO! So no matter what your 'statistics' (which you have not given any research, data analysis, method of retrieving, and accurate results for) say that does not mean that Everyone does it.
Don't get me wrong I think you have a point, many Christians do resort to this but here you are threatening the Christians that respond and calling their beliefs equivalent to fairy tales. That may be what you think but you are lowering yourself to the same level of the person you are ridiculing.
Stand up and realize everyone isn't represented by a 'majority'.

Are you from India? How lots do you comprehend approximately demographics? in the journey that your allegations have been everywhere genuine, why is the Christian inhabitants purely 2.3% in view that Nineteen Fifties, whilst 40% of Indians fall below poverty line? did you comprehend that there are extra desirable than 36000 sects of Christianity? Your are generalising Christians too lots. some Protestant communities like New existence, New Grace are energetic in conversions, would not advise all Christians are changing unfavorable Hindus. that's gloomy that so called intellectuals have fallen prey to RSS propaganda. did you comprehend another day those goons ransack church properties, vandalise graveyards, beat pastors which bypass unreported in media. Even police and the interior reach politicians are biased, because of the fact Christians at the instant are not their votebanks. My advice for you is to open your strategies and please think of. In India, Christians are a tender aim for communal forces. not all Christians want somebody to transform into their faith, some very few do it. stop generalising. @Harshit : you think of you comprehend alot approximately them? it fairly is because of the fact of human beings such as you, India will alqays proceed to be a third international united states.. Politicians desire to maintain the biggest subject concerns aside and gasoline the communal passions of undemanding Indians. You my buddy have fallen prey. good success. INDIA SHINING.

i do not believe that is a threat as much as it is a reality you are and the rest of us are alive here on this earth by the grace of God there is only so much time we are allowed to be here and if in that time we have not read and believed then we are out of luck we were not put here for ourselves God put us here so that we would worship and give praise to our creator the perks that we get are blessings from God if you do not believe or have faith then nothing anyone will tell you will make a difference but i would rather believe and do as the bible teaches and be wrong than to not and be right that death is the end i hope that you can open your heart to God and maybe give Him another try

I would like to know what your question was that brought that kind of answer. I find some people mocking toward God and usually that brings an angry response. What you should know is that God doesn't want anyone to go to hell. He cares for all His creation. However, if a person rejects and mocks God then it leaves Him no alternative but to not allow that person into Heaven. Rather than looking at the thought of Hell, why don't you stop and realize that God loves you and wants you in Heaven with Him. Just respond back in faith. It is very easy.

i am christian however i believe that Jewish catholic Islam and a few choice others will go to heaven. i mean you cant expect that someone who was raised Jewish and such can just go behind what they have been taught.

BOTTOM LINE if GOD is at the top of the board and your religion teaches you too be good kind and faithful you should be allowed to go to heaven.

however if your atheist YOU ARE GOING TO HELL
i mean, what, you choose not to believe in god cause if god is real, which he/she is, then he/she would have to be heartless to let the pain and suffering happen in the world, HE/SHE DOESN'T LET IT HAPPEN you cant help everyone someone has to be UN-HAPPY you perform a miracle for a for someone who needs a heart and someone else loses that heart.
And honestly if you choose a life with no pain you would find that with no pain there's no meaning.
something has to be bad to give meaning to good and although the starving children and a lot others are tortured now if they put their faith in god one day the pain and suffering will be over and they will be happy.

And by the by even if evolution and the big bang is real it doesn't disprove god it disproves Genesis which WAS written by humans i mean many gay people choose to be atheist because they say they are who they are and if the bible says that it is wrong then they choose to ignore god, but we need to understand that the bible was written BY HUMANS and its not that they lied they could have assumed it was wrong because of their modern beliefs

As an Evangelical Christian, I can tell you that I have never used threats to bring someone around to my point of view. Yes, hell awaits those who choose to live a Godless and immoral life, but heaven waits others who have chosen to believe in Jesus as their Savior. I suppose I just don't understand why anyone would want to live a life not dedicated to the Lord. All you have to do is believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and that you are forgiven, and you will be saved. When you become a Christian, you can't wait for your last day on earth, because you know you have a home in heaven. I hope that helped. "For God so loved the world, that he sent his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:16

There are plenty of Christians who do not restort to threats, but that is beside the point. The fact is that Christianity is a fear-based religion. Many Christians choose to focus on the love and joyful aspects, and that's wonderful, but it still remains that according to their own Bible you can either believe or die.

Imagine that a father says to his young son, "I love you more than anything else and will always help you and support you as long as you do exactly as I say, and if you disagree with me or ignore my teachings in any way, I will set you on fire and leave you to die."

Rational people look at this and see abusive behavior. What amazes me is that Christians think their God is less kind, less loving, and less forgiving than a non-abusive parent. To me that's an insult to deity.

They need to threaten because they have nothing else to offer. That's how religion snares you. It starts telling you fantastical, unbelievable tales as a child, when you're vulnerable and believe anything a trusted adult tells you, and then fills your head with the idea that you're going to be damned for all eternity if you even THINK about questioning anything you're told. You grow up with it ingrained in your system. It's called brainwashing.

Oh come now, you seem like an intelligent sort. You mean you cannot tell the difference between a Christian and an impostor? Don't you know that terrorists dress as average citizens to blow themselves up? You really think a Christian, who is suppose to be wise as a serpent yet gentle as a dove, will write something as venomous as a serpent and as clueless as a dove?

If you want to slam Christians, don't think that idiots on YA are any authority worth quoting?
