The amount of brain cell damage is
very hard to determine. It is not an
exact count that is recorded.
Heroin, Marijuana, Cocaine, Inhalants,
LSD, Steroids, Tobacco, Ritalin,
Methamphetamine and Ecstasy can
cause direct damage to the brain cells
that are involved in thinking and memory.
Ecstasy can cause the brain to swell,
resulting in permanent brain cell death ,
brain damage, and possible loss of life.

Drinking Alcohol definitely causes brain cells
to die. Drinking enough alcohol can cause
your brain to start to shut down, resulting
in brain damage or death.
Brain cells that are destroyed can not be
regained. People suffer from short term
memory loss and even retardation.

Yes, drinkng killes brain cells.
Breathing too much oxygen does, too, by the way.
But drinking on top of it makes it all worse.
We DO keep growing dendrites, connectins on the end of brain cells.
I THINK there is evidence that we regenreate brain cells, and that we were wrong before, but it may just be that because we keep growing dendrites on each brain cell, I'm confused. There is SOME hope,
but alcohol is just a big old neurological no-no, get it?
