Because if they attempt to actually answer the question, they would be faced with the absurdity of their own beliefs. It's an old politicians trick of answering the question you wish was asked, instead of the one that actually was.

People, this question isn't that hard to understand.
When someone is unable to prove something the last thing they will do is admit they are wrong, for if they do that, they lose. By beating around the bush and never actually answering a question, they have never actually been wrong to them (although obviously you will think otherwise). And apparently, that's fine to some people, they would rather never have you understand their point, then to be actually wrong.
True christians believe their bible is flawless and infalable. They should indeed be able to answer any question with 100% certainty that they are right, if they are truly devot. By beating around the bush they show a weakness and unsureness about their religion and perhaps question it themselves.
As for the agenda, every political orginization has an agenda, and anyone that denies the fact that organized religion can be considered political is a fool. They deal with the population and they control a specific group of people that define themselves as being of the same beliefes. They are a governing body. Not affiliated with the government mind you...

Yes, yes, that's what I "always" do. I always avoid the question, and just use Bible passages.
Actually, if you look back over my Q&A history, you'd find the exact opposite. I rarely use scripture, unless the question calls for it, and I try to ALWAYS answer the question as directly as possible.
However, I WILL tell a person when they're taking a verse out of context, and then I'll explain WHY I say that. I very rarely give a short response to a question, and I usually have sources to back me up. The problem is, when I post an answer that I gave a lot of consideration to, the person asking the question seems to almost always ignore it. What they're usually looking for is someone to agree with them, and even when I state FACTS, not opinions but FACTS, people don't like it.
To elaborate on that, take your question as an example. You say that Christians "always" do this or that, but you overlook the Christians who DON'T always do this or that. There are many Christians on here who are like me, and they get ignored as well.
I do have an agenda, I'll admit that. But I think ALL people have an agenda, whether they'll admit it or not. Don't you have an agenda, in asking this question? I rest my case.

1. Not all Christians beat around the bush.
2. Not all long answers are circular avoidances.
3. Sometimes you DO misunderstand the point. It depends on the issue and the way you phrase your query.
4. Sometimes the answers to your questions ARE found in the Bible. Simply quoting the verse is the short way to answer a question with a reference material.
5. Have you considered that YOUR mind is the one that is closed?
6. Do you have any specific question in mind, or is this a generalized accusation?

Exactly, Christians are not supposed to have open minded thinking. Matter of fact we are supposed to be very close minded to anything that is not in accordance with the word of God. Very good observation. As far as slapping on the biblical passages. Well yeah, the Bible answers every question a person might have. If a person were really open minded they would read it and have the bible answer their questions instead of badgering Christians all the time.
I really don't see why you ask anyway. It is all an attempt to get Christians to question their beliefs. The Bible is the answer to Christians questions. Quit acting like a baby.

If "open-minded" means "I waffle in what I believe and Im not sure its true therefore I should have little or no conviction," then no, we are closed minded. If being open-minded means being open to the truth, then we are indeed and have accepted that truth.
Do we avoid Q's? I dont know about you but I also detest people that dont answer Q's. But you also need to have proper Q's for instance you cant ask "Why are you so dumb?" and "What does the color purple sound like?" Certain questions are either categorically asked wrong or already assume the answer before asked.

All religions believe in teachings and prophecy made thousands of years ago. Most of those teachings were relevant back then but not relevant now. They don't answer questions directly because they are trying to fool people into believing the answers thousands of years ago are relevant today.
The simple answer for those people that are easily led by religion, or any organisation, is believe in yourself and always try and be a good person.
Religion is based on control, power and money. If they weren't there would not have been any religious wars in our history.

If I show you an trig question and it just illudes you....I can only explain it in so many ways to keep it as a trig item. You have to undertsand more about trig to understand the problem. Same with the bible and it even tells us.....those that do not believe will not understand.
Ask me a question, I'll answer you in plain, simple, english terms and most of the time I'll even quote science. For I use to be an atheist for 28 yrs, and know that path very well.

I'm wondering what it is that bothers you the most, that Christians don't give you the answer that you want, or that we they have something they believe in and that they will uphold at all costs? If they bother you that much, why not quit talking or listening to them? Get over yourself dude!

I do try to answer most questions asked. But some are so far out there I don't waste my time.
Most questions asked ,people don't really want an answer to ,they just want to argue,God said don't answer them.
You will also find a lot of people ask something taken so far out of text, its a waste. If I know the answer, I will answer the truth.<><

That is true. And I love the coined phrases like "all part of God's plan", "who are we to know what God's plan is", "it is because God has willed it this way". It must be nice to go through life and anything that goes wrong blame on the devil or say it was just all part of God's plan.
And I totally hear you that they never answer a question, just avoid answering it and then quote the Bible. Unfortunately it is like telling someone that you believe the Lord of the Rings books are fantasy, but they continue to quote them to you to try to change your mind. Makes you wonder how many branches their family trees have (wild guess is one).
