You could get a refund of federal/state taxes withheld, if any. Also, if you are eligible for the earned income credit, you would get money back even if you had zero tax liability since this is a refundable credit.

Yes, there are benefits. If taxes were withheld from your modest earnings, but you are not required to file, then you are probably due a refund of all income tax withheld. For instance, my son made $2200 at his job last year. He was not required to file, but received a refund of every cent he paid in. If you fall in this category, you can file a 1040ez. It is a super easy 1 page form. I used to do my sis's by phone, but they discontinued that.

If your income is so low you don't owe any tax, the only reason to file would be to get a refund of any tax money withheld from your check. Otherwise, don't bother.

You will get money back this year. There is a refund of long distance phone tax and you will get money back if you ask for it wether you paid taxes or not. You probably also had some tax withheld.

You should file if your income was so low that you were below the poverty line as that entitles you to claim the Earned Income Credit whereby the government pays you extra on top of refunding any taxes that you might have paid. Go for it.

if you don't mind, it couldn't hurt. i didn't make much last year, but i got $50 back. it's not like it's a lot, but every bit helps. it would definitely be worth it too if you've donated to any charities too, because you can get some money back for that too.
