My MIL comes over and we had some medications on the counter. She looked at them and then WROTE down the persecription. When my husband confronted her, she made pretend she wasnt doing anything. We usually keep all meds in the cabinet, but I KNOW she looks at them, I was thinking I could change the labels and write something like "backoffcyline" and when she looks at it online, she will see it is phony...Do I confront her or just keep hiding all the meds??

My mother in law is cool, but my mom is very nosy! We had her take care of our dogs while we went to Disney. When she comes over, she scans the house like it was her first time there and she is always opening cabinet doors and drawers looking for something. I told here there is no reason to check anything else in the house. I vacuumed the carpet before I went to the airport and when I got home there were footprints all over! The best thing I did was make a fake checkbook and add fake balances to it! I imagine after several minutes of nosing through this fake checkbook, she believed her son was a millionaire! My ending balance was $14,950,101.76. Don't think you can do anything about a nosy mother or mother-in-law!

I can only imagine that she wrote down the information to fill it for herself at your pharmacy. I would call the pharmacy and alert them that ONLY you will be picking up your meds and the MIL should be reported if she tries to fill your prescriptions.
The other possibility is that she is just nosey and wants to look up on the internet what is going in with your life and health...still a very nosey thing to do!

I would confront her, and say, "I appreciate your concern for our health and well-being, but would you mind leaving my prescription bottles alone. I consider my health a very personal matter and I feel uncomfortable when you write down the prescriptions like that." She will probably be so embarrassed that she will never do it again. And the best part is that you have said nothing wrong and gotten straight to the point!

Tell her it is none of her business to pry into your things including medicine. The doctor has given them to you because he feels like you need to have them.
Also, you could get a small tool box and put the medications in it with a pad lock on it. That is a safe thing to do especially if there are small children visiting.

start lying and telling her things she really doesn't want to hear;Honestly most people like that are unhappy with the way thier life is turning out that they look for other peoples faults to make thier miserable lives look better. The fact that she doesn't talk about herself or her daughter obviously means they have nothing happening in thier lives; you could always take it as a compliment that she finds your life so fasinating.

Wow that is definitely very nosy. Maybe get a cabinet that locks for your medications so she feels dumb when she tries to open and cant.

Ask her for a large loan, so you can go to the Betty Ford Rehab.
Asking for money usually makes people disappear.

No, just tell her it's for the clap and when her jaw pops back into place tell her just kidding. Offer nothing more and even she should get the hint plus you all should have had a laugh.

i would confront her. if you really don't want her to know what you take, then hide them b/c she will probably keep looking. but you or your husband should definitely say something to her.

You should do nothing. If you do anything at all, it will make you the bad guy in the family. It's your hubbys mother, so let him handle it.
