Anyone else ever had an accident on the freeway during Rush Hour?

I was in one 2 years ago ... traffic all of a sudden came to a halt and i guess the driver behind me didn't notice it in time! ... 2 months of Rehab

Several years ago I was caught in a multiple rear ender with about 6 cars involved. It was on the freeway in Oakland, CA. I was pushed into the car in front of me and broke both headlights. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder to exchange names and addresses but couldn't find any of the other cars involved. I thought about it for a moment and decided that thy must have pulled over further down the freeway. I drove slowly along the shoulder for about a mile but still couldnt find them. I took an exit to go back to the point where the accident occurred and subsequently got lost. I eventually found the freeway again, but still no sign of the other cars. It was getting dark and I had no headlights, so I drove home as expiditiously as I could.

Now I began to worry about "leaving the scene of an accident" and the possibility of being charged with hit and run. I phoned the California Highway Patrol and explained the situation in detail to the officer. He began to laugh! He said, "Haven't you figured it out yet?" I replied that I didn't have a clue what he was talking about.

"Well, it's fairly common over there", he laughed, "You were the only one with insurance!"

Yep, happened to me, luckily not as severely as you.

People drive too impatiently and too close together. If I had a nickel for every time I saw a rear end collision, I would be very wealthy! Talking on the cell phone has only made the situation worse!

Even though it would be a pain, I don't think it would be a bad idea for people to have to take a safe driving course every three or four years to refresh their skills.

Nope, but as a limo driver, I've seen a ton. Sorry to hear about your's, hope you're feeling better. I know how crappy rehab can be. I went though 8 months of rehab hell for my knee in order to avoid surgery.
