do you not find it a little fishy he was so strong in the duels and won in a dominating fashon and his car after being put at proper height never really ran all that strong in the daytona 500?

i have to agree with you, last year johnson was caught cheating and besides losing his crew cheif, and getting sent to the back of the line, he got nothing done to him, kahne was supposedly caught cheating, and he gets 50 points docked from him, which shows me that nascar is biased, yeah kenseth got docked too but maybe nascar does have it for roush now too but not as bad as he does with kahne, think about it, he won 6 races and they had to almost make an exception last year and allow the top 11 drivers in the race if kahne wouldn't of finished in the top 5 cause of his wins, 5 of the 6 wins before the chase began. yeah, i think more should of been done with gordon considering they were throwing penalities to everyone else.

Of course you can make that point, but the Hendrick cars seemed to cool off starting at the final practice before the Daytona 500, the commentators actually did take note of that during the race broadcast.
Either the adjustments that happened between the duels and the Daytona 500 made things bad, or the other teams made good adjustments before the race.
Remember that while the car that was used was the same, the setup probably changed between races to try to make the car even better.
Making a car too low is caught very easily, and teams know better than to make it that obvious, and NASCAR confirmed that it was unintentional.

He should have penalized maybe some money but anything over that would have been dumb. It was in the duels and Nascar made sure to check his car before the 500 and sent him to the back of the pack. If he would of raced the car in the 500 he would have probably dominated. The car he raced in the 500 was good but only got him a 10th place finish not a win.

He wasn't that strong in the duels, except when he had fresh tires, and that was the same in the 500. If you remember correctly, he pulled in the pits and got fresh tires, and all the cars he passed in the duel didn't have fresh tires. Also, he was fortunate to get a great push from the 18 and the 40 that got him to the front in the final laps. Please pay more attention to the races and you'll come to better conclusions.

Your point is well taken.Having watched inspections and since the shock rules came in effect these parts are mounted on the car in the inspection area after NASCAR checks them,so in front of inspectors the parts were installed.Not only that but the inspector okayed the car to run.So;
1) could this have been a NASCAR snaffoo?
2) could the team have intentionally cheated in frontof NASCAR?
You do have a good point,and there are other angles too.

I hate Gordon, but I have to say that he wasn't running good in the duels, I dont know what race you were watching. He just pulled of a crazy move towards the end for the win.

Gordon wasn't cheating because the governing body of the sport, NASCAR, said it was a mistake. They'd already busted 5 good teams for cheating (did you know that) , and at that point what was one more?

So yea, I considered it... and moved on.

Oh and Jeff Gordon didn't win the race. I saw too many responses here that said he did. (You can see the real NASCAR fans.)

Sorry. Coming in 10th after starting in 42nd and being on the lead lap isn't exactly a bad showing. Even with the wreck at the end.

I'm not a huge Gordo fan, but he's looked pretty good.

first of all he wasnt running well in the duels... but then when the part broke in his car.. thats when he started running well.... someting that was totally beyond his control.... not his fault... that was like 3 weeks ago why are you still whining over it..... and after he had to start 42nd, his car overheated, he was involved in the last lap crash, and he still finished 10.... thats pretty damn good
