They get so mad when they hear "there is no god" after they post a question. They don't even want to hear anyone else's opinion and take it into any type of consideration. I think atheists are just trying to make them open their mind and think. In reality there is opposition, we do not live in a perfect world full of peaches, like their so called heaven. Why are they so arrogant to think they will live forever in a perfect heaven, are they scared of not existing? or are they just brainwashed idiots? There is only one truth, impermanence. And that disproves their heaven.
They can't comprehend that because it goes against everything they have been led to believe and then they won't have all the "answers" that will help them fall asleep at night

I believe that atheists and agnostics provide a counterbalance.
If a false prophet/guru/cult leader is trying to brainwash somebody, the atheist and agnostic will be first to expose it.
Atheists and agnostics often expose unbiblical doctrines, which is why i pay attention when they speak.
The biggest reason is that a good friend of mine is an atheist.
I have often felt as though i was one in times of discouragement.

You're right about one thing, that nothing is really permanent.
It is arrogant for me to think that i will end up in heaven.
It is more arrogant for me to say that i have proof that heaven exists.
It is true also that i choose to believe in heaven, because i have loved ones, family, and friends, and i don't wish to be separated from them, not even by death.
It is hard enough to let go of people when they are alive on earth.
To have to let go of them for ever is much too painful for me.

First of all, when a person states that there is no god, they're not simply stating their opinion, they're making a statement which they generally believe is a fact.
There is absolutely NO proof that there is or is not a God. The fact of the matter is, both creationists/religious people and atheists/non-religious people have access to the same facts. We simply interpret it differently.
No, I'm not afraid of not existing. If this life is all there is, then I guess that's the way it is. I think actually there would be MORE freedom involved if there's no God, no heaven, no hell, no judgement. Think about it: While there would be no reward after this life for goodness, there would also be no punishment for "sinful" behavior. Wouldn't that mean we can do whatever we want?
Your "one truth" does not disprove heaven. There are some who know what happens after we die, but the dead don't usually talk. So maybe there IS a heaven.
I have not been brainwashed. I made up my own mind to become a Christian, thanks. And besides, I don't get mad when someone says there isn't a God. I believe that people are entitled to believe whatever they want. AND I don't believe I have all the answers. Actually, my beliefs keep me questioning everything. That's why I'm in this section.

DDcass,
What do Christians expect? Tolerance. Christian's also expect to be forgiven of their sins because Jesus died for them. Only God will judge us. Though he's our father and creator, so he loves and understands us. I'm a Mom so i get the love a parent or creator has for children. I don't understand anger in response to "there is no god" I feel no emotional response to the statement. If anything, empathy, sadness frustration or pity. No I'm not scared. of not existing. So be it. I'm just another being God created in this universe. Impermanence disproves heaven? Impermanence is only for the world that was created for us. A proof requires evidence. No all Christians are not brainwashed idiots. Most question as we should. This doesn't sound like much of a question. More of a rant really. What are you trying to provoke? Thought? Doubt? No, I don't have all the answers. I like to consider others opinions. No, earth is not perfect.

Sweet dreams
God Bless,

Jen

Why are they so arrogant to think they will live forever in a perfect heaven, are they scared of not existing?

Not existing is as logical as life coming from rocks, or nothing suddenly exploding into something and then becoming everything. Or literally thinking that your great X 10^50 th uncle is a literal monkey. If you consider belief in God and Heaven arrogant, well so be it, but, know that if you believe there is NO God then the bible calls you a fool.

or are they just brainwashed idiots?

No. That would be the guy who believes everything his parents or his school teachers or his college professors teach him without questioning.

Real Christians Question.

Well many times they answer when the Q was clearly was asked to believers. How would you feel if you were in a group and the moderator asked a question for cancer survivors, you were the only one there, and everyone else chimed in?

They dont want to hear the denial of their religion when it wasnt asked for and they certainly dont like to be mocked and insulted anymore than you do.

I dont think embracing what we know to be true is arrogant. God has revealed himself to us in prayer and with miracles and we have responded. Im sorry if our having faith offends you.

Brainwashed idiots? Wow now we're getting down into 4th grade level stuff here.

Any rational logical semi-enlightened atheist KNOWS that you cannot disprove the existence of God, only prove it, and therefore cannot disprove Heaven.

The answer we most care about is where will we go after we die. The truth is the believer has hope, the unbeliever has none. If he was wrong and there is a God he is completely screwed. If he was right, then he gains nothing and becomes nothing. Who has more to lose?

Isn't it alittle understandable that some would be offended when their religous convictions are attacked. I bet if you post a question/statement that attacks athiests you will get angry and hateful responses. I don't think Christians should react like you describe to statements that contradict their faith. I think us Christians in the U.S. might be spoiled. The early Christians had to face a lot more opposition and they seemed to be able to take it with more love and grace. You don't give much to back up the idea that impermanence is the only truth. I don't think it is arrogance to want to live in a world where there will be no pain or death or suffering. I think that is a legitimate desire. You may argue that it is a false hope to think such a place exists, but its not arrogance.

I expect to not be called a brainwashed idiot, or that I can't deal with the issues of life, I am so weak that religion is my crutch. Or mocked for loving God. It takes a lot to brainwash a person, more than going to church once a week. Yeah, we get annoyed when people tell us there is no God. We know there is. It's not just that some folks say there is no God, they mock us and Him. I expect to be treated with a little more respect as any human being. Also, I get weary of hearing how you people need to open our minds. Look 2 + 2 = 4, right? It is a fact. God is a fact. So when you say He doesn't exists you sound closed minded to us.

If you express your opinion regarding a No God theory in a respectful manner instead of calling Christians deceived, stupid, afraid to listen etc., you might at least get a courteous response. However, it has been my experience that most non-believers that come to this forum do not bother to even make an attempt to be civil. Their sole purpose is to bash our faith and make fun of our God because it does not agree with their own opinion.
You have the right to your opinion but so do we. I respect the fact that you believe as you do but would not even consider calling you names or making fun of your beliefs. Those are your choices and we have made ours.

As to finding it easier to sleep at night since finding God...on the contrary. Before becoming a Christian I slept just fine because I cared about little other than my self. Now, some nights I have difficulty getting to sleep because I worry about all those people out there that are like you and feel a tremendous sorrow. Not sorry for you, but sorry for my God because His love for you has meant nothing.

I can accept that you not believe in God. Why can't you let others believe what they want to without called someone a "brainwashed idiot" and nonsense like this? If you believe there is evidence that you can from the sea and then turned into something else and that makes perfect sense to you believe it. To me that sounds ridiculous and to many other people that sounds ridiculous. I'm afraid that you may be the one who has been brainwashed. I don't comprehend this because it to stupid to believe. I will change my mind someday when I see a fish come to shore and turn into a monkey.

I can understand both sides, I was one an Athiest. That being said, I understood when I thought that christians just thought...and they were healed, but then I almost died from a bleeding ulcer, so just thinking I was healed did not heal me. AND DON'T TELL ME I WANTED TO BLEED TO DEATH! I was completely happy with dying and there being nothing after death. By the way you don't have all the ansers because you cannot prove or disprove that God exist as an Atheist, all you can say is that you feel God does not exist, so in faith, an Atheist THINKS he does not exist, like a Christian, IN FAITH believes he does. So when it comes to the timbs they found, since I did not need to be at the place and time where Jesus was ressurrected and by faith alone, I believe, what would a tomb do to my faith, nothing because I do not believe based on proof, I believe based on faith. So Atheist are confused, they intermingle faith (that God does not exist) and evidence (the tomb) to forge their claims. Sounds real confusing to me, I think I will stick with being a Christian.
