About six months ago, a gentleman named Akbar moved next door with his wife and children. Obviously, with his name, I was petrified. After everything that has happened in Madrid, NY and London, I was scared for my family.

So I would not allow my children to be outside without my direct supervision, and often I would end up walking the long way to my car just to not walk by Akbar's place.

Last Monday, he was walking down the sidewalk and caught up to me when I started running. Guess what? It turns out he is a Mormon!!!!! Crazy!

I was so relieved. I seriously thought my family was in serious jeopardy! Now I have a new best friend! I've introduced him into my country club, and have given him a key to our house in case of an emergency. It's also good to have some help in the babysitting department when me and the little woman go to church.

I'm just telling you this story to let you know they aren't all bad.

You have a thing against Muslims and Arabs don't you?

Well, you shouldn't really be concerned if a person is Muslim, they're not all terrorists. I had evangelical Christians living next door to me for a while and that was something. Not bad necessarily, but their praise sessions were kind of loud (though musically enjoyable). They did try to convert us a few times though, very subtly.

I have never had a moment where I was "relieved" to find out someone's faith. Surprised, perhaps, but not relieved (as if their assumed faith was a bad thing).

I don't know if you are the better off for having a Mormon neighbour than not.
Prejudice is a bad thing. Look at the things he tells you and see the problems with false prophecies and other problems.

Wow! This story went from an expression of fear, to prejudice, to acceptance, to A LOT of acceptance.

First buddy, I'd say you were going overboard by living in fear of your neighbor. Now, I'm telling you you are going overboard by giving him a key to your house AND letting him watch the very children you were protecting him from.

If he's really your friend, fine, great, but how your story unfolds, this sounds like a really bad thing in the making.

I easily have been stunned and inspired by utilising somebody's faith, which potential by utilising somebody living their faith. i'm LDS (Mormon such as you pronounced), and recieve and take part in provider at cases. One occasion, my ward (my congregation) took care of my family contributors on a similar time as i became into in a coma in a well being facility, for over a month's time. They provided food for my family contributors, so my father and mom could desire to be at my bedside and with me in rehab, even however I hardly undergo in strategies that. My family contributors additionally recieved provider on the arms of the Catholics in the community. i be responsive to that once human beings easily stay their faith, this is a delightful marvel to work out how stable human beings could be.

Nice idea, but it kind of comes across that you were being prejudice/racist. Even if he were Muslim it shouldn't have mattered; you should have greeted him and welcomed him to the neighborhood like anyone else. In the end, you are right, they are not all bad people. In fact, MOST are not.

1. No terrorist is going to blow up his own house. Just like living next door to a Hell's Angels clubhouse...you would be in the safest place possible

2. Mormons are pretty crazy too. Joseph Smith and Moroni and all that crap....bwa ha ha ha ha ha.
