how do i dye just the bottom half of my hair? and what color?

i have very black hair. and i want a color that shows, so whats a good brand and color?

You can not dye your very dark hair a lighter color. It has to be bleached and the color lifted. Unless your going dark purple or something darker.
You need to go to a salon and have a professional do it for you before you damage your hair.

Ask the colour technician!

Part hair around from top of ear, around the BACK of the head to the top of the other ear. Bleach it out and then put in a temporary hair colour when it fades try a different colour.
This way you can dye our hair to match your shoes!

I have the same problem and my hair dresser told me a brown color like 1b 30 (if it was to be done with extensions) Or a dark maroon red that has a splash of Auburn

Red would look good or a dark blue. You might have to lighten it first so the color stays. You could see a professional or do it yourself. I've put red chunks in my hair and used a chunking kit from Walmart.
