no of course not. Autism is a mental disorder. Blindness is physical. The 2 are not related.

No. That's like asking if depression causes blindness.

Autism is a pschological disorder, that likely occurs when two nerds each carrying a nerd gene mate to create a super-nerd, who is twice as socially disfunctional as his or her parents. But seriously, there is likely a genetic mutation that that causes it, and they've found it to be more prevalent in the SF Bay Area where computer geeks are mating. It's also more prevalent among males than females.
