My daughter weighs 20 lbs. and she wears size 4. That's about the general size for that weight in the different brands. Size 3 might work, too.

Depends on how they carry the weight.
My daugher is 11 month old and weighs 22 pounds. But she is very long and very skinny. She is in a size 3 in Luvs and the sides still go the whole way around her. I have never bothered trying her in a size 4 because
#1 the size 3 fit so well with room to spare
and
#2 you get 6 more diapers per pack of the size 3's for the same price.

Well depending on the brand. Probably a 4. We use Pampers, and I've found that the maximum weights on the boxes really aren't that accurate. We generally jump up to the next size a few pounds under the recommended weight - also, if there are a lot of 'explosions' happening, and everything is coming out the back of the diaper, it's probably time to up a size.

My son is 25 pounds and outgrowing his size fours. I found boys are better a size up because they hold more. With the smaller diapers I have to change him more often because he'll soak through the top of the diaper.

It really does depend on the brand and the shape of the baby. My 10-month old is about 20lbs and wears a Huggies size 4. The weight on the package is not always accurate, but it does give you some idea.
