its when you can last a long time, with little or no rest or breaks, and you dont get tired
it is involved in alot of things
but in working out, it means you can say, run for 30 minutes straight with no rest, thats good stamina, but if you can only run maybe, 3 minutes thats horrible stamina
the positive effects is that you can work out longer, which is better for building/loosing muscle/fat

The easiest way of defining stamina is 'long lasting energy'. Endurance is a similar term. Usually stamina is equated with aerobic capacity; in other words, the ability to run or sprint for a long time and/or long distance without running out of breath.
