It's both true and false.

Things that are long buried or hidden can come out, but so can other things for a variety of reasons. For example, some people are easily affected by the people around them when drunk and will spout off whatever they think fits in with the setting. By the same token, some will be feeling rebellious and if drunk will come out with some outlandish thing just to upset or shock the people around them. Some people will be so out of it that they do or say things that they would never do sober - because it truly isn't part of who they are when sober.

Bear in mind that our civilized ways are only so entrenched, we bury or mask most of the instincts and urges that would have been uninhibited 30,000 years ago. If someone gets blotto enough, their conscious rational thought process gets slowed down and all that stuff lying jumbled up in the back of our brain comes out in whichever way circumstances allow.

the only fact i know dealing along those lines is that a person will not do anything when they are drunk that they have not thought about doing while they are sober. Someone may sleep with the wrong girl or guy because of impared judgement but someone that does not believe in premarital sex would not sleep with anyone unless they were already debating it. What a person is feeling might not come out as their judgement is impaired!

Sometimes, but not always. Drunk people get confused and sometimes say things that have no bases in reality. What do you think all the arm-biter hook ups are about?

it can be... getting drunk let's a person's guard down, and they will say stuff that they normally wouldn't say... but some people can hold their alcohol better than others, so it's not always true.

sometimes when people get drunk they don't know what they're doing or saying so they might slip out some stuff and say things they would never say when they're sober
