Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. And true, as well--every human alive today evolved from another human. From a biological perspective, evolution is simply the change in the genetic composition of a population over successive generations.

Other than mere scale, there is no difference between the changes that your family has undergone over the last few hundred years, and the changes that your species has undergone over the last few hundred thousand years. The processes and mechanisms are exactly identical in both cases: organisms pass their traits on to their children, their children vary in minor ways, and in each generation the traits that tended to promote survival and reproduction will be propagated the most. It's really no more complicated than that.

Hardly. And the fact that humans evolved from different earlier species isn't demeaning either -- it just is.

"Evolution is simply the change in the genetic composition of a population over successive generations."

WRONG KEMOSABE! It's not "simply" that and hardly IS ever that as well. Cross-breeding for example is not evolution - existing genes are not altered or evolved.
