DONT SAY SLOW DOWN NEITHER!! BECAUSE one time I was in a two wheel drive (front wheel) car trying to gain momentum by going down a hill then going up a hill in very very icy snowy weather when there was a buffoon idiot 4*4 truck driver in front of me half way up the hill that was going 2 miles an hour. Of course he broke my momentum and I was ended up almost stranded barely making up the steep hill.

And dont blame me for not owning a 4*4 they suck more gas.

Another good example of driving safe is owning a manual transmission instead of a much more dangerous automatic transmission. The manual has more torque drivability and much much more.

SLOW DOWN! That's the ONLY rule you need to keep in mind.

During the ice storms a couple months ago, there was a huge number of accidents blamed on the weather. It was not the weather that caused ANY of the accidents in my area. Every last one was caused by idiot drivers trying to drive at or near the posted speed limit. In severe icing conditions, 5 MPH may be too fast.

Yes - main thing is don't expect as much traction. If you take a curve at normal speed you may slide off the road. Same with stopping distance. You can easily slide into the rear end of a car that normally you could stop before. Also visibility - realize that if your visibility is cut down, to where you can't see very far ahead, you may really may run up on something stopped dead in the road. Slow down so that you can stop within the distance you can see.

I won't say slow down (for I have seen accidents caused from people slamming their brakes in the highway for no reason), but I say knowing the ability/limitations of your vehicle, and what it can, and cannot do. Once your familiar with your vehicle and YOU have control of it, then focus on those around you.

And NO, do NOT turn on your hazzard lights. For some odd reason, people in Miami love to do that, and in turn just causes confusion and further issues.

Slow down, no sudden moves, leave sufficient gap between cars and a good set of tires.
