I agree! After all the evidence lately, it's unbelievable! Not only what is in the current bible contradicts itself throughout, but there have been all kinds of new documents and things like gospels that have been found which are being excluded! Furthermore, it was written by people in the past who had dreams and were far less advanced illiterate than our current society, and it has even been re-written by people today to tailor to various peoples' particular points of view and interest (like the Mormons- Christ even came to North America with his long hair, while other versus, like in Corinthians, state that man should wear short hair)! With such a book, with no reliable substantial evidence anymore to support it, how can anyone rely on it?!! It has even been used to put people to death, like scientists, in the past who claimed the Earth is round!! How can it be used to swear on in a court of law when it is so of hypocritical contradictions that people in power can use to their advantage to pull versus and select only particular commandments at their discretion to biasedly punish anyone at their choosing?! I would not be surprised if the bible, as we currently know it, has been put together by a bunch of pot heads and people on LSD or other bunch of drugs!! "Do you solemnly swear on the bible to tell nothing but the truth...?" Why sure- because any particular verse at my choosing says so!!

Well, look at it from another point of view. It must have something going for it, or it would not have endured for all these centuries. If nothing else, it is an intriguing story, great literature, and the basis of modern culture. If that counts as codswallop, then so be it.

No, its a very good story book.
It is however a lousy history book....
By the way, codswallop means gibberish in modern English, but at the time of the KJ bible, Cods were slang for the testicles, hence the codpiece - and codswallop was therefore semen -
Shakespeare wrote some gritter stories didn't he!

I don't think so because it exposes us for the sinners we all not to make us feel bad but it also tells us how to be better people. The bible's prophecies have come true and they are too specific to predicted by men. It is also full of scientific facts that the rest of the world did not know about at the time.

Not real sure what that there word means, but whatever it means, I can assure you that the Bible is not a work of FICTION as some may claim. It is an accurate depiction of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. But now I will go look up your word and further educate myself.
Peace.

The Bible offers a bit of history. But it was written by people that didn't fully understand the world around them, and it has been completely taken out of context.

No. But tell me, if you believed in anything and I made fun of it, don't you think you'd be a bit pissed off?
Oh, I know its not your fault. You're just mad because it says you are going to hell. So I guess it is your fault...
Still, its not nice to make fun of other people's religion!
