If god is willing but not able to prevent evil, then he is incompetent. If god is able but not willing to prevent evil, then he is malevolent. If god is able and willing to prevent evil, then why does evil exist?

Main question:

If god is neither able nor willing to prevent evil, then why do we call him god?

Those of you who try to pass the blame back on humans by saying "Adam and Eve sinned" or "God gave us free will" ..... you sound like battered wives. "Oh, he only hit me because I provoked him...if I was a better wife, he wouldn't hurt me."

A god who can't do better than that doesn't deserve to be worshipped.

God first gave Adam and Eve free will to do either good or bad and they chose to disobey him and evil was in the world ever since. God has it set where we can choose to do evil or good and he will not interfere unless we ask him to. That's the way it has always been. We choose to do evil things and he does not get in the way unless someone prays for it. He allows evil because it is mankind's own free will choices to do these things. It's unfortunate that so many of us abuse this gift in the worst ways. I believe Satan created evil and we create it when we think of it and do it. God is not to blame for all the bad things in the world. Our bad choices add up and multiply over and over until wars break out and people start killing each other. Just pray for you and your family to be protected everyday and God will step in and keep you from evil.

God is everything and Satan is nothing. The confusion comes about when you say God is like nothing on earth. God is "like" nothing, meaning he appears to be of the nature of evil, but he is not, because he is everything (nothing can not be everything)

Realistically, look at it this way, all the trauma, complications, and suffering you go through in life is called a "learning experience." You grow from it.

So drama is "like" evil, but not really evil; it is a good thing because of the wisdom it produces.

I think that God stepped back in order for this free system to operate. He gets introduced in when righteous people pray to Him and ask Him to intervene. Sometimes He does, sometimes He doesn't. Not sure why. God does not want evil to happen, but it does. He has purposefully stepped back, and evil has happened because of the fallen nature of humanity. Thats whats up, son.

God is able, and willing, but even He has laws to follow, otherwise, our free will as human beings would be compromised.

1) a spirit cannot interfere with man. proper channels must be followed.

*God has to work through the righteous, as sin is a barrier between God and man.

*God will get rid of evil, but in due time.

You seem to misunderstand... you do not make the rules... God makes the rules... if you do not like it that is fine with God... you can do what ever you like in this mortal universe... but when your time is up here you will have to answer to God for what you have done here.... God gave you an immortal soul at your conception. If you have not proved worthy of that gift you will be eternally separated from God...and that is not going to be a pleasant eternity for you

If God wanted to create a race of goody goody two shoes puppets, he would, but instead he created humans, the creation that is perfect in it's imperfection.
