she did have an MRI and another scan done and they both showed scaring on the brain but the DR said the darker they are the older they are and she had a few black and some gray, she's still very confused, can't remember things done last week and won't go out of her home.

How old is your sister?
I take it she was fit and well before the fall that led to her problems?
A TIA (transient ischaemic attack) is when the brain is temporarily starved of oxygen so you end up with the symptoms of a stroke but within 24 hours the patient has recovered. Your sister does not have this as she is still unwell.
The stereotypical picture that most people have in their head of a stroke patient is weak and stiff arm and leg down one side plus facial paralysis down one side. Some patients may also have partial loss of vision plus speech and balance problems - it all depends on which part of the brain was damaged by the stroke.
If your sister sustained an injury severe enough to damage these parts of the brain - fractured skull, a brain haemorrhage (bleed into the brain) then she may well have symptoms similar to those of a typical stroke patient.
Are you based in the UK? Reading between the lines it sounds as though you are struggling to cope with you sister. If you ARE in the UK then please go and see you doctor about this as he/she will be able to help with physiotherapists, occupational therapists (mobility aids etc) and organise social care if required. I can't begin to understand how difficult it is for you and your sister, but please ask for help as help is out there. Your doctor will point you in the right direction.
Good luck!

She may have had a TIA, Trans Ischaemic Attack, which is similar to a stroke, but not as severe.(mini stroke)
Also, post traumatic stress can have varying effects on the body, and mask itself as an illness.
Also, is she depressed as this could make her quiet, lethargic and not very talkative. Tell her GP you want some answers or you will refer her privately. They will soon sit up and listen.

Could be a TIA (transient ischaemic attack) also known as a mini stroke. I have used an organisation called CROSSROADS I donot know if you have one in your area. They care for carers and I found them invaluable, it is a free service and helped me keep my sanity.See your GP, good luck and best wishes

The term for it is TIA. often called a mini stroke and the effects fade over time but if there is enough of them they can cause real damage

She's suffered TIA's, mini stroke episodes. Hopefully she will recover fully. Look after her and good luck.

she may have had a reversible 'mini' stroke, a TIA (Transient ischaemic attack) that will gradually get better.
