Despite claims by the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, and other health organizations and anti-smoking nazis that tens of thousands of people die annually from secondhand smoke, they are unable to name even one single person who has died from secondhand smoke exposure.

I believe there is no scientific evidence that second hand smoke causes death or anything else, although it cannot be good, The air now days is not clean like years ago, just drive behind a school bus the fumes and toxins it gives off has to be 1000 times worse than second hand smoke, just something to think about.

Roy Castle, a UK comedian, died of lung cancer, even though he had never smoked!
It was suggested that his work as a stand up comedian, in smoke filled clubs, caused his illness.
His death was the beginnings of the anti - smoking lobbies in public places, in the UK!
I hope this helps.

According to the American Lung Association, "Secondhand smoke exposure causes disease and premature death in children and adults who do not smoke...Secondhand smoke causes approximately 3,400 lung cancer deaths and 22,700-69,600 heart disease deaths in adult nonsmokers in the United States each year."

If you think about it, secondhand smoke can cause death to an asthmatic if he/she is allergic to it, inhales it, and it causes an asthma attack. You don't need to wait for cancer or heart disease to hit you. Some cancers are of unknown origin anyway but if you're talking about rights, nonsmokers should be protected from secondhand smoke because they are nonsmokers for their own reasons---health, religion, etc.---and they should be respected.
